"we celebrated our sons, so we wanted to impress something. the service was excellent and the ambiente was good. classic eating, nothing to fancy. all our decisions were very good, well prepared and presented. the only one settled down, our soufflé star, it was quite bland and not very hot. other than that would definitely come back for a special occlusion."

"I go there fairly regularly because I'm lucky enough to live not too far away. It's the best value for money restaurant that I know if you want exceptional service and an exotic, beautiful décor at an affordable price. The summer menu has a strawberry, lavender and elderflower trifle that is just to die for !!! This alone is worth the trip over... A real OMG moment. Congrats to the Chef or whoever thought this up.... Telling everybody about it ;"

"first impressions of this beautiful restaurant were absolutely great. I had to wait a little to come in, but the brave guy was ever so sweet, and polite, then when I arrived at the podium, the ladies were apologetic for my waiting and then took my coat, it was absolutely great experience. Bar employees were very attentive, and fast to serve me. then we ordered food and it was absolutely mouth water. we had a great experience in all and I would recommend this place completely when they pass, try to impress their date or just have a romantic meal with their partner."

"The place and view were beautiful! The food was not good, unfortunately. An hour later, we received a starter that was uncooked and had raw meat. We sent it back, but the rest of the food came out lukewarm. The chicken wings were undercooked. The main dishes arrived at the same time as the appetizers, and they were not hot either. The portions were not satisfying and lacked flavor. The pizza was cold, and when we complained, the manager offered the meal for free. The service from the waiter and manager was good, but the kitchen staff may need improvement. I would return for drinks, but not for a meal. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant."

"Haven't been here for a while after a couple of bad experiences (after quite a few good experiences .. was better, service was good except getting the bill paid which took forever for the card machine to arrive.. noticed another table also having to resort to going over to the kiosk. Starters were good.. tartar (although the egg was over cooked and a bit hard.. . Main courses were mostly ok, although I opted for the Tom's Burger which wasn't too impressive. Overall, would come back but still some improvement to be had.."

"It was better than any food I had in England. It was 48 pounds of beef Wellington, and the Wellington meat was so tender, the mushroom flavor was amazing, and the sauce was perfect, not too salty or strong. The bread served with the potatoes is also a bit hard, but it goes very well together. I drank the recommended wine and it went very well with Wellington. The Beef Wellington season at nearby Kerridge's Bar Grill was over, so the chef there recommended it, and I'm sure the chef would cook high-quality food, too. The food and service here were better than any restaurant I've experienced in London. I hope you stop by and experience Wellington and pie."

"When we arrived punctually, we were greeted in a very friendly manner with the words "RESERVATION?" Equipped with the OpenTable reservation confirmation, I made it clear that I have made reservations for people in my name. After a quick glance at her rancid notebook, the waitress wanted to end the conversation with the words "No, sorry." After I again held the confirmation in front of her nose, came another sorry, you could not do anything before she fled to the cane. Then a gentleman accompanied us to the door. On New Year's Eve, finding a restaurant with people in a crowded city was simply impossible, and so, on behalf of people, I would like to thank the Bistro Grad Hometown restaurant for a failed start to the year"

"It was a sunny evening, so it was quite busy, especially outside. Yet there was only one member of staff to serve everyone. She was friendly but didn't know what she was doing. We had to wait very long for everything. Food didn't arrive at the same time. When she gave us our menus, she also handed us the set menu lunch menu, I asked if we could still order from that because it was after seven, she said it was all fine so we ordered from the set menu (normally we don't order a starter, but we assumed the portions would be smaller because the price was considerably less than the same dishes on the normal a la carte menu). Even though the main was supposed to come with a side, we forgot to order and we were never told to pick one. Once the food finally arrived (two dishes were exactly the same, but one came about 5-7 min later than the other) we couldn't bother asking for our sides because it would probably take another hour. We also decided not to order coffee or dessert because of the long wait. In the end my mum went inside to pay because no one seemed to be serving us anymore. When she showed me the receipt when we got home I was shocked to see that we were charged full price for every dish and not the set menu prices. We had very small portions and no sides. At this point I couldn't be bothered to go back or contact them about it, also because we felt bad for the waitress who had to everything on her own and was friendly. The location is great, but it's overpriced and bad service. I wouldn't go back unless this changes."

"Afternoon tea was not the best experience. We were kept waiting at the door for about 10 minutes for some unexplained reason for a start, although we had a booking. Tea consisted of 3 sandwiches, two of them tiny, a cupcake, 2 scones (why 2, I don 't know), a tiny pot of chocolate something, a square inch of fruit cake, tiny smoothie and a hot drink, for £29.95. Champagne was £10 extra. There was a question on the booking form about dietary requirements, so I noted that I was vegetarian, but I was told at the table that there 's no vegetarian option! Why ask then?? I therefore could only eat one of sandwiches, which were all on spongy mass produced bread . Everything came to the table at the same time, including the coffee and tea which was luke warm on arrival, so we had champagne, a smoothie and hot drink all together. Also, a substantial service charge is added to the bill, so for three people it was over £123!! Appalling price for minute, low quality food!"

"came here for my sister's 40th birthday parties to taste the intless brunch! beautiful restaurant, loved the hauch that the pianist play as they eat. the set menu was simple, but with some excellent choices. I had to start the smoked laughs and burger for the most general portions for both! the burger was cooked to perfection. the drinks were really groundless! we had a lot of prosecco. I also had a fab **** mary, and the heavenly bells were beautiful. the personal was fantastic! our waiter was attentive and certain that all 13 of us were well looked after. I would highly recommend this restaurant. at £40 a head for fabulous food service, they can't mistake it."

"I love how accommodating and attentive staff were as it was my graduation meal so they really helped make it an even more memorable and enjoyable experience. We dined using the set menu priced at 37.50 GBP per person which was amazing value for money. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food as it was flavoursome and beautifully presented. I wish I remembered the staff’s name but I got carried away with a few glasses of wine courtesy of the staff who even brought out a surprise desert to celebrate my academic achievement. They even brought out a second for photoshoot purposes!"

"We had a good evening that could have been great if we had been seated better. Despite the request the call to confirm about us having amour very small dog we were sat at the bar. Watched for the whole time we were hours) there at least one table for two that would have been more comfortable. As the son or a restauranteur and designer of many telling the guest âwell I could give you there but need back by ...â is never a problem. We would have spent even more money than we did and been happy to sit at the bar for after dinner drinks rather than go somewhere else. That aside, great food, beautifully cooked, presented and our waiter was doing a great job (just needed a bar tenders hot toddy) to get him through the night. Cameras in the ladyâs toilets looking at the cubicles would however put my wife off coming again as not good to feel that was being filmed. Deal with the âdrugâ issue another way, thatâs does not match the standard of the restaurant."

"Friends and I had drinks here. Brilliant ambience, they have a heated outdoor space too. Lovely cocktails and the food was scrumptious. Definitely try the Salmon Bellini. But what really was great about this place was the manager, Manuelle. What a gentleman and great conversationist. We had some issues with our table, which he immediately sorted and was a brilliant host the whole night. Would definitely recommend this place for speakeasy drinks and nibbles night, as there is music, but you can also actually hear each other talk without getting that scratchy throat the next day! 10/10."

"Won’t be back in a hurry… we waited 45 minutes for our first drinks order even though other larger tables around us ordered after and received theirs long before ours. The appetisers and starters were dumped on our table without explanation of which sauces went with what and the closh from one starter was left on the plate with no room to discard. The side dish (simple steamed broccoli) was delayed on a considerably overcooked fish main (turbot) and was delivered 20 mins later, only after the dish was almost finished. To add to this, when we enquired about a fish fork for the ‘on the bone’ turbot, the waiter did not know what one was… after asking around it appears as though ‘the Ivy’ don’t even have them. Some of the food was delicious (especially the venison tartare and the Keralan duck curry) so it wasn’t without merit, but the terrible service means we’ll be going elsewhere unless things change. Unfortunately, looking at other tables around us the same feeling may be commonplace…"

"Went for a Sunday late lunch : the 4 courses menu was tasty and good value for money. The service was average as they couldn't locate my jacket in their wardrobe : 15 minutes wait for that. They also did not accept the OpenTable rewards cheques and were confused about it. Average experience overall for me."

"We decided to try this little restaurant for our wedding anniversary because of the good reviews and the limitation of where we could celebrate because of the covid restrictions. The restaurant is of a bistro style with small tables and a lovely ambience, The...Argentinian steaks were really lovely and so tender, cooked to perfection. The home cooked chips were delicious and went perfectly. As we were the first customers of the evening they were able to cook chips that were gluten free, if we had booked later in the evening they would not have been able to provide gluten free chips as they use the fryer for non gluten free food, which is a shame. So be warned if you are gluten free because there is nothing worse than going to a restaurant and have to eat salad or if you are very lucky a jacket potato as the gluten free alternative! The men on the next table thought the wine menu was very expensive, but there were plenty of other drinks on offer for those on a more affordable budget but this is not a budget"

"We had a fantastic dinner experience at this restaurant! It was our first time dining here. Our server, a very friendly and knowledgeable young man on a Sunday evening, made our evening even better. We started with the English Pea Ravioli, followed by the Chicken Schnitzel and Braised Prime short rib stroganoff, all of which were absolutely delicious. We shared 3 glasses of wine and our server kindly gave me a little top off since I only had 1 glass. As we were celebrating a birthday, we ordered dessert and received a second one for the celebration. The atmosphere, service, and food were all excellent."

"We pre-ordered and two phone calls were made to ensure my meal was gluten free. The restaurant on the calls confirmed this would be possible. I was then given a place name with GF written on it from the restaurant. I was then served camembert with gluten bread, I asked for the gluten free, to which they offered gluten biscuits. So I then had to change to scallops as the only GF starter option. I then received the steak and chips and double checked whether the chips are fried separately, I was then told the chips were not fried separately so therefore were not gluten free. Later on I was told the chips were actually gluten free. The waiter was not very happy or welcoming. Would not return to this restaurant."

"After dining at this restaurant multiple times, I made a reservation for dinner with three friends and was extremely let down by the decline in quality. The cocktails lacked flavor, the wine was tasteless, and all the food was overly salty. The lemon sole was overcooked, the butter sauce tasted burnt instead of nutty. The aubergine main dish was small and lacked flavor, more suitable as a starter. The halloumi main was bland and the sole goujons were lukewarm at best. The dessert, rhubarb frangipane, tasted like a subpar Bakewell tart with minimal rhubarb, and the Balthazar coupe was overly sweet. At a price of £270, this meal was far too expensive for the subpar quality. I am unsure if there has been a change in management at this restaurant, but I was truly disappointed and embarrassed to have recommended it to my friends. I will not be returning or suggesting this restaurant to others in the future."
