"Firstly, I will say that this place has the best pizza I have ever had in my life. Everything is made at the venue and the variety of flavours make for an amazing experience. Personally, my all time favourite is the christmas special roast dinner pizza; a combination of turkey, bacon, sausage, stuffing and sage leaves (may be other things too but I can 't quite remember! if it is on the menu, I would strongly recommend you give it a try! The place itself offers seating both downstairs, upstairs and outside, and is an extremely cosy and quirky place which, in my opinion, captures the essence of Bristol. All the staff are extremely friendly, and I 've never had to wait too long for food. As well as this, they offer various deals both student deals and others making it completely affordable. They also have various live music and other events; one of my particular favourites being the 'hangover club ', where on one Sunday a month they show three films and offer pizza deals, and everyone is encouraged to wear their pyjamas and bring duvets! Truly a remarkably great place. Definitely worth a visit."

I come often to the 51 on a Sunday night to eat pizza. This is the best pizza place you can find in town, personnel is very nice and the '2 pizzas for 12£ ' is very honest.

Went here for friends birthday for pizza and drinks. Arrived at 8 so it was quiet. Staff were lovely very good service. Pizza was just average nothing wrong with it but nothing special. Was cold in there too.

Pizzas are absolutely spot on for the money! Bristol has it's fair share of pizzerias, most of which charge an extortionate price. No.51 serves brilliant quality at a decent price, I'd say they give Flour Ash a run for their money. Also great on Deliveroo!

We stopped for pizza and a drink on our way home. It was our first time eating there and we were impressed by the pizzas and the service. The bartender was very friendly and made us feel welcome. However, the sticky tables and smelly toilets detracted from the overall experience. The two for £12 deal on Sundays was good value for the food.

Just ordered by phone on a Tuesday evening. Super friendly and helpful staff. Ready in 5 mins from phone call to collect when I arrived. We got a ham pineapple swine pine and bacon mushroom smokey the bandit , and both were totally delicious. The restaurant for sitting in, with an outside terrace, looked lovely too. Will definitely be back next time I 'm in Bristol! Thanks!

I noticed that many pizzas on the menu did not have mozzarella listed as an ingredient, so I asked one of the bartenders about it. She coldly informed me that if it wasn't listed on the menu, then it wasn't included. I ended up ordering my 3rd choice just to ensure there was some cheese on it. However, when the pizzas arrived, my friends who had ordered pizzas without mozzarella ended up receiving some. I chose a margherita, which was very bland and had a lack of cheese. Overall, I was disappointed with the experience.

Just finished reading some reviews, and a few people mentioned that the atmosphere was lacking. But shouldn't we be focusing on the food and service when reviewing a restaurant? Anyway, here's my take - the food and service were fantastic. My wife and I enjoyed a veggie pizza, portobello mushroom burger, and fries, all of which were delicious. Despite not being vegetarians, we decided to try those dishes and were pleasantly surprised. I have written around 130 reviews on Tripadvisor and have only given a 5-star rating a few times. This restaurant definitely deserves another one.

We ate in the bar area as the restaurant was full with a christmas party. The staff were very friendly, but the bar area wasn't particularly nice for eating. It was very sticky, absolutely stank of alcohol, the toilets were a bit smelly and there was a very drunk man hanging about who should probably have been asked to leave long before. Unfortunately my coke was watered down and not very nice at all. That said the pizza was excellent, and my veggie burger was great. The portions were large, and the side salad was really fresh. All in all, a mixed bag! Perhaps make sure to book in the restaurant area if you are planning a visit for pizza!

51s is a unique venue with effectively three different areas. We almost missed the upstairs restaurant and garden area, which is very different to the downstairs bar. I would recommend going upstairs for something a bit more cosy. We had a very friendly person serve us and the food was fantastic, made in a wood-fire oven. Fairly cheap too. As a 'pizza connoisseur ' I can say that the pizza was possibly the best I have had in Bristol. The bar is very stokes croft, in every sense, which maybe isn 't for everyone. But the upstairs offers something a bit more removed from the street-level experience of other venues. Will certainly be coming back!
