"Having told a business associate that I would be passing through Duesseldorf, he told me that I had, to visit A Tavola for the carbonara Checking it out first on TA, I saw mixed bag of reviews, with most positive on the food but often...negative on the service. There were higher-rated options for me but I chose to go anyway. Well...let me tell you...they must have done competitors writing these negative reviews to undercut them - because I couldn't have been more pleased with the food, wine, or service. I am not what you might refer to as an easy customer, either. I was met at the door by lovely hostess who indicated they would find a spot for me in the crowded dining area. Handed of to the manager I was seated at a long family style table with other guests. Everyone seemed to be quite happy and enjoying their time on this busy Friday evening. So, to the point...I started with the tomato and burratta salad (delicious), then the carbonara (truly marvelous...ask for it if you don't see it on the menu), along with moderately-priced bottle of a really nice Amarone. Could not have been better. Taste, portions, service...all A+. And, to set the record straight...a wonderful team who work in excellent collaboration to take care of customers."

Totally delicious food and friendly service. In summer you should sit outside as it is totally beautiful and cozy in the side street and inside it can be relatively loud. Typical Italian dishes at fair prices.

Was fortunate to be taken here for a business dinner. Had the tuna steak which was lovely, tasted the steak as well which was also lovely. Was packed on a Wednesday evening which shows how popular it is. Would recommend View menu

Super cozy Italian with outdoor seating in a small side street. As a guest you feel right in Italy. The food was very freshly prepared and super delicious. The service was attentive, fast and friendly. Absolutely nix to mecker :

The restaurant is located in a quiet side street in the old town of Düsseldorf. It has a real Italian flair with the chairs outside. The food was excellent. Before the main course there was bread with olive oil and dessert Italian pastries. I think you rarely come in and out and dessert and that's so delicious.

Would never have expected to find superb Italian food in Germany but it is as good, if not better than some restaurants in the Northeast US. Nice Italian resto in the old part of Düsseldorf. We had no reservation but could wait minutes at bar. The of us got an glass of white wine (not on the bill I don’t understand the comments about sitting at a table next...to strangers. That is obvious when you enter. Average visitors here are quiet and respectful, so no big deal. If you are a privacy-king and do not like that, don’t go here. Service friendly. A bit stressy but with a smile. Food is very good! The food was nicely prepared and quite tasty, nothing exceptional though, however the portions were rather small. What was totally appalling and the main reason for NEVER going back was the unbelievable rudeness of the owner? (from what they told us). In the years...of travelling we have never come across anything like it. Bad manners, insulting comments in Italian Language (luckily we had an Italian speaking person in the company) and a very indescreet and annoying hovering over out table once we finished our dinner.
