"we ordered the chicken wing starter and only let fish down the food was cold when it arrived, ordered spicy poppadome and chili-dip that not only arrived the flat and cucumber-dip. the main thing huh tikka masala, garlic chew, fried rice and garlic rice. plus a garlic nan brot. all fantastic, but again cold, when arrived, booked delivery for not arrived til apologetic driver ! I understand I'm not around the corner, but surely they should invest in heat bags and not the standard carrier bag to keep it warm, the man who delivered it in a carry bag as he took it from his car, I understand her busy, delivery to her home may be better! there is room for improvement and word of mouth is vital if they eat warm, poppadome as desired and soße delivered it would be one for sure hope it helps"

Awful curry.. that 5 star review for the tikka masala is ridiculous. The person should just try a frozen vegetable curry. Who even goes to an Indian restaurant for tikka masala anyway, LOL.

The curry at this restaurant is delicious. That one-star review about the vegetarian option is ridiculous - the person just needs to try the chicken tikka masala. Who goes to an Indian restaurant for a veggie curry anyway? LOL.

she has not been in the albrighton balti bazaar since the demolition. the greeting of the staff was as warm as ever and the wonderful eating was as excellent as it ever was. our meals were cooked to perfection and we will come back soon. View menu

Really good Chicken Tikka Madras, could do with more chips, shame they have swapped from bags to trays for chips. Wife's curry lid wasn't on properly so curry had leaked all inside the carrier bag and over everything! Food is spot on, staff are fantastic, just a few minor issues with other things!

This is possibly the worst Indian takeaway I’ve ever bought. The vegetable curry tasted like they had just poured a bag of frozen veg and some curry powder in warm water. The Tarka Dahl was just yellow water with burnt garlic and the popadoms were burnt and tasted worse that the ones you buy in the supermarket

I recently tried the Chicken Biryani and Veg Curry from this restaurant and it was absolutely fantastic! The flavors were so delicious that I won't be looking anywhere else for this dish. Mr. Ali, the owner, was also very kind. This restaurant is great with excellent vegetarian options, especially their Veg Curry which is the best I've had anywhere. The service was quick and I got takeout for dinner. The price per person is between £10-20.

Waited over an hour and when the food arrived it was absolutely terrible. Not only had they delivered a wrong item, the correct stuff was absolutely disgusting, burnt and inedible. I've never once complained about or not been able to eat an Indian, this was a first! The majority of it went in the bin. Don't listen to the rave reviews, anyone who has had a proper Indian would know this is terrible and not fresh at all. So disappointing and the restaurant had no interest in issuing a refund Service: Delivery Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."

"Open since 1970 and located on Mardol, one of Shrewsbury’s oldest streets @thecurryhouseshrewsbury serves locally sourced ingredients married with traditional spices and chillies from the Indian subcontinent, a match made in heaven. 5 5 Recommended Price No better way to kick off proceedings but with popadoms, chutneys and fresh onion salad. On to appetisers and there are so many tempting dishes to choose with many of these exclusive to the curry house. Our first time trying Pani Puri. A sweet and spicy hot street food snack filled with chickpeas and tamarind sat on a bed of crunchy, nutty Bombay mix. With a building but pleasant heat, definitely something everyone should try. The quality and freshness of the seafood was exceptional. Spicy king prawns were huge and cooked to perfection. Charred on the outside for flavour but juicy and meaty. Trio of King scallops were beautifully tender and of a good size with sweetness from the tamarind liquor. Lamb rogan Josh tender lamb shoulder in a medium hot ginger tomato and onion sauce. A strong take on a traditional favourite of ours. Fresh from the Tandoor a generous mix of marinaded chicken, lamb, king prawns and a chargrilled lamb chop. The Tandoori deluxe massalla sauce was the perfect blend of sweetness melting into a subtle heat which brought the dish together perfectly. The curry house takes traditional dishes and flavours from the Indian subcontinent and elevates them to a level beyond expectations. Thank you for our invite to share the exciting menu created with passion and creativity.
