"Looking for somewhere to eat quite late on a Saturday night, we were very happy to stumble across the Pizzeria Antica Osteria Italia. The place was full and we were luck to get a table. Despite the every table being occupied, the service was fantastic and we enjoyed watching the owner/father controlling the staff and the fact that he missed nothing. A master of his art! In addition to being a pizzeria, this is primarily a fish restaurant and having come from a seaside area, we were a bit unsure as to if we wanted to eat fish so far inland,, but we both ordered from the menu of the day, which was reasonably priced at 20E, and did not regret it. The risotto with calamari and tarragon was delicious, unusual and generous in quantity. One of us then had swordfish and the other beef cheek on pureed potato, which was fantastic and beautifully and slowly cooked. We followed this with a homemade orange flower water Neapolitan cake, which was also delicious. The bill including wine and beer was 65 E. Next time we are in Certosa di Pavia, we will be back!"

Restaurant is attached to the Hotel. Has a pizza oven as well as main kitchen. Nice service. Typical menu for the region. We had an excellent fried/baked cheese, ham and rucola perrier fooled by a risotto and another cheese and aubergine dish. With a desert, wine, grappa and a coffee it came to E45 for two. View menu

A good, honest, simple restaurant where you get what you pay for in our case, risotto, cotoletta alla milanese, salad, chips, coffee for 20 euros each, and a decent bottle of Bonarda for 15 euros. It was a Saturday night and the place was full, but the padrone keeps an eye on everything and the service is smoothly efficient. If an expensive gastronomic meal is what you are looking for, pass on by, but if your taste is for straightforward Italian food at a sensible price, this should do nicely.

for a few years, once a year I stop at this place to have lunch. every time I go out moderately amazed at the moderate prices that asks associated with a quality of food appreciable. the environment consists of a long salon with many tables, however, despite its simplicity, you have an impression of order and cleanliness. noise even if present is not excessive. at lunch the menu offers for € a first and a second to choose (for both) between proposals. in the price includes a contour, water/ wine, coffee. what is offered is good and not too trivial, even wine is drinkable. alternatively there is a pizza menu that I think costs €. the service is courteous and tickled. there is an internal park...

"This is a restaurant that tries to be too many things at once: a gourmet restaurant, a pizzeria, a grill and a burger restaurant! One wishes they would just pick one thing and stick with it. The drawback of such an extensive and varied menu is that food doesn 't come to the table at the same time. Our table ordered a mix of the gourmet menu and the pizza and food delivery was out of synch: strangely, the pizza took longer to prepare than the rest. Having said that, the food is good, in fact it 's very good. I had the highly recommended gourmet menu, which it includes an extraordinary aubergine parmigiana starter: it comes with parmesan cheese served warm, crispy and as ice cream. People familiar with Gordon Ramsey 's permesan ice-cream will know that it 's one of the most delicious things you 'll ever try. Miss it at your own peril. The carbonara al cucchiaio is simply a creamier, premium version of your homemade carbonara. Utterly delicious. The mixed grill is not to be missed: beef tagliata, lamb chops and abruzzese style lamb skewer. They were delicious and cooked to perfection. And don 't forget the amazing pizzas, made from starter yeast and naturally leavened for a minimum of 48 hours. They are made of the softest, and lightest dough you 'll ever try. The dessert were also extremely good. Our table ordered a selection and they were all amazing. My favourite was definitely the pistacchio semifreddo. A note for those of us who live in a big city: the service is good but slow at times. Learn to slow down and enjoy your food as nobody here is asking you to vacate your table after two hours. Buon appetito!"
