This was really amazing experience! Food was extremely delicious, service fast! This seems to be family owned restaurant, so you feel like being at home!:))

Worth a detour to the small town of Roppenheim. Service is friendly and food was consistently excellent (steak cooked to perfection and great starters of escargots and frog legs). Come early because tables go quickly!

We had a great lunch , informal local traditional restaurant with focus on great food. Try the Alsace specialités in combination with the local wines. Dessert ask for the homemade chocolade tarte with fresh fruits. Only 5 min from the shopping center.

Food is superb and very dependable! service friendly, good and reasonably priced wine list. typical local specilities, including frogs' legs or foie gras are the best! the owners marc and jacqueline do an outstanding job!!! this is the place that dreams are made off!

This restaurant was fondly known as the "Garlic Pit" to the members of the RCAF who were stationed across the Rhine at 4 Wing, which is how I discovered it. We've been regular patrons for 30+ years now, and the food and service has never disappointed us. I generally start off with either the onion soup, or escargot, and then have a steak (Cote d'Boeuf or entrecote) for the main course. Be prepared to wait for a table if you come after 19:00 as it is always full and the owner does not take reservations.

A colleague suggested we stop for lunch on the way to the airport after a business trip and he chose this restaurant by chance. What a delight.We arrived on a Saturday lunchtime in November to find this charming restaurant two thirds full. The jovial hubbub of the clientele and the fact that we were greeted with a firm handshake by the Patron, was a measure of things to come.If you hanker after excellent local recipes and produce, served by attentive, knowledgeable and trilingual staff, this place may well be for you. Their passion for good food and service was evident from start to finish.

I know "The Lamb" in Roppenheim since more than 20 years now. It is amazing that the owners not only keep that high level in the kitchen that long, they still show the same enrgy and friendlyness. It looks like they really love what they are doing.Being that good you can afford not to take reservations. Whenever we stopped in the last 3 years (we live 2 hours away) we just waited at the bar in the great guest room and had a beer and enjoyed the "amuse bouche".The food is excellent, the menue offers meats and fish, but I mostly get something from the daily fresh dishes (which are not in the menue).There is a wide variety of wines as well.

Only about 20 minutes drive from Baden-Baden and we've come to very warm and cosy family owned reastaurant with amazing French cuisine. It was Saturday 6pm, all tables were busy, and we been told that they don't do reservations on the weekend. So we had to wait at the bar, whith very good drinks variety. Later place got even much more busy, people were waiting for the table in the queue with drinks even on stairs... AND IT IS WORTHY! The food is excellent, service as well, despite the crowd. The owner himself serves and control in the kitchen, maybe thats the secret of the success. p.s. Btw they have got menu in Russian language.Don't expect something fancy, the atmosphere is more like a hom...
