"For those that know, a visit to this restaurant the other side of the valley from La Plagne is the perfect end to an off piste run from l'Arpette above Belle Plagne down to either Sangot or Macôt. You have to get a taxi up to the restaurant & back (or have a friendly non-skier driving!). This adds to the cost but this cuisine is well worth it. Jean-Pierre the owner and chef is a great host and will help you select a wine to suit the food. None of this will break the bank; this is not ordinary food at a high price; this is great food at a reasonable price. Jean-Pierre is a well known chef, teaches culinary courses and has had a cooking show on regional TV. He has a full repertoire of imaginative and innovative techniques. Both he & his wife Annie are very friendly & take great pride in their lovely auberge. The views are tremendous."

Truly a special meal. Attention to detail first class. Chef spoke to each guest about their order. Unusual menu options. Must book a table.

We love this restaurant, the food is imaginative and different from a lot of restaurants in the area. The chef/owner is on hand to advise on the best wine and makes sure everything is good. Keep going back ......

We were invited to celebrate a friend's birthday with dinner. Great meal. We all chose from the incredibly reasonable €32 set menu & the food was superb. Everything beautifully cooked (purées perfectly smooth, for example) and presented. Chef/patron very welcoming. Without doubt best restaurant in the area.

As in my review of the B&B, the food, service and accommodation were absolutely excellent. This restaurant is well worth a visit, all 5 of us were really impressed it was the quietest meal ever, we were too busy eating to talk!! The food was cooked to perfection and full of flavour. Highly recommend the veal cheek and crozet risotto!! View menu

We were on holiday staying at Maison Caramel in Landry . The owner ( Alvero ) kindly provided transport to the " sunny side " of the Tarentaise Valley . After a high level walk in the sunshine we ( the four non-skiers in a party of fifteen ) went for lunch at this charming auberge . Jean - Pierre (chef) & Annie (front of house ) made us very welcome . We had the plat de jour :- pumpkin soup , beef slow cooked in red wine & either tarte tatin or pot au chocolat ( heaven !) of course we had wine with it .make sure you pre-book as it is popular & deserves it.

This award winning chef personally supervises his kitchen and his wife offers a cheery welcome to guests and serves. The fare consisted of three differently priced menus with a strong focus on meat or fish. Texture, balance and colour was carefully chosen. Note though that there are no vegetarian options. Even though I gave notice, an unimaginative vegetable starter and mushroom omelette were the only dishes proffered. It was cold and snowy when we went, but the restaurant is in a small alpine village with a terrace overlooking the valley, so I imagine that warmer days and evenings outside would be a big draw. The restaurant is well signed from Aime. It is very small so make sure you book! I n...
