"Happened to stop here one evening with my God daughter for dinner and we got lucky to find a table! Had lobster and pasta with a bottle of Prosecco (my choice) what can I say but FANTASTIC! So I had to go back with my husband! The second time we had the fish tasting meal (three courses) and I had spaghetti with clams for seconds I asked if I could possibily have fried shrimp, which the chef prepared for me! Crunchy, tasty and delicious!! The best fish dinner I have had in a LONG time! Everything is fresh, cooked to perfection, served by an excellent staff that are both friendly and quick. The price for our meal was lower than most other restaurants in our area (Monfalcone to Trieste) and the quality and quantity was definitly much higher..I highly recommend, but go with an appetite, portions are bigger than usual and the food so good it's a crime to leave it on your plate!"

"Walked in for dinner at 6.30 p.m. as that’s when the website said it opened, however we were not able to have dinner for half an hour. No problem, we had a drink first. Then they called us to a table and after deciding what we wanted to eat we ordered. First came a basket of dry bread no butter, no oil just dry bread which was not very fresh. Then my husband’s dinner arrived (lukewarm). They told me that mine outdoor just be another two minutes. No problem I said. Five minutes later they returned to tell me that it would be another 3 minutes. By this time my husband was halfway through his meal. I asked him to wait so that we could actually eat together! 15 minutes later a different waiter came to ask if everything was ok!! NO I said. I haven’t even gotten my food yet. After another 5 minutes my food arrived! My husband had to get his reheated. So we went to have dinner together, but basically ended up almost eating separately! And expensive for what we had too. I give it 1 1/2 stars. Very disappointing as it looked like a lovely place"

"Making an objective review at this restaurant is very difficult. You could rely on the menu ‘, location and service as it might be right. And then it becomes at first glance a local bruttino, dated, by tourists and caret. It takes time to live and appreciate this tractor of the fish; it takes the eye to see the couples of the elderly Trieste who have a romantic lunch, the local burber service in a narrow dialect and the inevitable granseola made in the manner of grandmothers. The menu ' and ' BUONO , remained back light years from the modern kitchen, but stritolato from the costs that are reflected on the lists that seem almost inappropriate for a traditional cuisine and without frills. There is still the old Trieste that goes to the sea at the Gabbiano, you are still well and you can still survive many things. But be careful... because romanticism and tradition could be confused with laziness, immobilism and businessism. You're still in time Gabbiano to renew... I'm typing for you."

"The place could be really nice ... an old style house in the wood with a huge park and a lot of tables inside and outside. First problem: few people eating and very very slow service. Waiter didn't really pay attention to the guests. Second problem: cats all around impossible to eat quietly and waiter completely ignore their presence. Third problem: we came here because I remembered a very nice filetto even if not cheap... well we can discuss about the quality of the meat and we can discuss how is possible not to ask to your guest if it has to be rare, medium or well done but I expected it was cooked both sides but probably I hoped too much. Fourth problem: meat in grigliata mista. Really thin and dry chicken, costine with so big bones and so much fat that was impossible to eat also for the taste Fifth problem: complained with the waiter and asked if they changed chef. Positive answer. So they changed chef and no one is checking what they bring to the table Obtained a 15% of discount on the full price. Really difficult that we would go there again"
