"We brought our friends from Switzerland both working in Food press because we used to love this place, the food and the service. We booked a table for 7:30. They informed us that there was people coming at 9:30 but...as we were spending kind of a lot of money and enjoying each other company...they would find another solution (cause you always have to have a B plan) But NOUP...Let's say that 9:30 was the plan, Ok BUT if you expect people leaving on time the place you do not spend the entire service telling them that they have to work fast cause we have to leave on time! Also, you do not suggest a 70 euros bottles with delicious apéro and not leaving us the time to eat and drink properly......They could not stop telling us they they had to free the table...while we were eating and drinking our apéro they brought us the entrées"...than the plat right away....and then they came 3 times to see if we had finished...Unfortunately I cannot show how they brought us the bill. let's just say that the waitress trowed the bill without looking at us and while saying "Now you have to leave"......NOW YOU HAVE TO LEAVE to 4 people who just spend 200 € and could not order the dessert cause they definitely trow us outside...I was in shock...my guests asked me what kind of place was this one...I was so embarrassed with my guests."

My second visit to this restaurant with a 3 year gap in between & it was as good as I remember. Three courses, all excellent & good wine to match with View menu

The food was really originally presented and cooked (combinations), for a totally reasonable price! The place itself is beautiful as well and they have a good wine selection. The staff is friendly and professional! You have to book a table!

Excellent food - really nice atmosphere - friendly staff - good value - what's not to like - had my first Communard as an aperitif - Red wine (a Gamay) and cassis - no idea why I haven't had it before, it's great - a lovely night - strongly recommended

I was here circa a month ago with my brother who was visiting and I must say that I was a bit disappointed (as it has been recommended my Michelin for several years). I had a fennel soup with scallops and for main course I had the fish. Both were very good but lacked that special notch that would make it perfect. Might come back though as it is still good value and overall the dishes were innovative and good. View menu

Being familiar with Lyon and its excellent places, it sometimes hard to find a good place for a Saturday night. The food here is of top quality and the waiters are just great. Entrances (fenouil based), meals (fish or meat) and desserts (chocolate cake with salted butter). were delicious. A good time with a nice decoration. I really enjoyed seeing the names of the team in the menu, I think it's a great initiative. It shows a really good spirit.

My husband and I visited Balthaz'art on February 17th. It was lunch time and we were ready to eat after our walk around La Croix Rousse. We saw the restaurant and its Michelin recommended badge outside and decided to walk in. Even though the place was quite busy, we got lucky and got a nice table. The place is artfully decorated and makes you feel right at home. We decided to go for the lunch menu ordering different dishes to try out their variety. We had a delicate terrine and a outstandingly presented Lyonnaise salad for starters. Then, my lamb tagine was so savory yet delicate, a great contrast from the smoother taste of my husband's fish that was just as delicious. The finale came as a l...

"This place is an enchantment! Six-person table, we were on the terrace for 15 minutes when we decided that we could have been less hot inside. No worries, table in the room 3 minutes later. An interior full of softness, with direct view of the chef that applies on each plate (finition to the clip). Aperitive, put in the mouth and he went for a succession of dishes in 7 services. And there is a pleasure at all levels: each plate is a small aesthetic and gustative masterpiece. The chef describes his complex and intelligent dishes with simplicity and modesty. Responsible and sustainable ingredients, bold but always balanced taste associations: the social networks of the restaurant did not lie to us! Wines in perfect harmony with the dishes (with the chef who even taquins my familiar friends by bringing them his bottles of heart to the blind. Everything was perfect! I had already had the chance to come and I wanted to let people know I love. Everyone loved, two people planned business meals and everyone just thinks of coming back! The menu in 7 services is to be discovered absolutely. A great thank you to the chef was able to intelligently adapt his menu to one of the guests who did not eat meat without the feeling that he was injured. Under his nanny, he is of absolute sweetness and has conquered everyone! The dream night we needed, a good time. Thank you for this delicious moment (in all senses of the term!"
