"What a delight Anderby cafe is. Inside is a warm and cosy decor. There is a well stocked bar, if you fancy something with your food, or just sit in the garden on a sunny day. We were on a day visit and after a lovely walk on the beautiful beach, called for lunch. We were greeted warmly and went outside to the garden, we had our dog with us. They are dog friendly, but we like to outside. We both decided on burgers, the cheesy one foe me, the spicy one for my hubby. Cup of tea and coffee to wash down. Drinks arrived quickly and the food wasn't far behind. Nicely presented, bright blue plates, condiments with cutlery in a little bucket. A nice touch was the small pair of scissors to cut the top of the sauce sachets, I usually struggle and end up with it everywhere. Burgers were yummy, just the right amount of salad, home made coleslaw was delicious. Hubby was a bit so so with the fries but apart from that great first visit. We will be back. Thank you."

Fabulous cappuccino, great atmosphere and dog friendly. Stopped for a coffee, sat outside and enjoyed the view. A perfect location, by the beach. Would definitely go back

Reasonable busy sized cafe situated by the entrance to the beach. Menu selection was ok catered for vegans vegetarians. Outside seating areas in the rear garden, picnic table benches a few decorated summer huts which was nice. 2 clean customer toilets friendly staff. Ice cream also available, although the Vanilla didn’t taste of much. View menu

Beach cafe helped us out when the gas regulator had malfunctioned in our caravan. We had an emergency breakfast situation. I chanced a message via chat on their website to see if we could order and collect, not expecting a quick response. They replied within seconds, accepted my request, and so I despatched my husband off on the breakfast mission...codename Operation Hangry. Excellent service, excellent food, excellent people.

I contacted Jason at the cafe as we wanted to celebrate my mother in laws birthday with a cake in an area which has very special memories for her. Jason decorated one of the beach huts and organised the most delicious coffee and walnut cake. Jason and his staff looked after us very well and they were very attentive, checking to see if we needed anything during our celebrations. It was all a lovely surprise to the birthday girl who thoroughly enjoyed herself. We have visited the cafe before and always love the food and atmosphere so it was great that we were able to celebrate here. Many thanks again to you all, we will see you again! x

"Booked stayed at this place very recently having read the excellent reviews. As a very level headed person, certainly not delusional I failed in trying to recognise or match the place based on any of the reviews posted on Booking.com The place, whilst very quaint appealing from the outside is in direct contrast to the inside! In reality, it 's very much in dire need of deep cleaning, redecorating and refurbishing. The food, not sure who prepared the meals in the reviews I read, but fail to see how it could be the same chef as the one that cooked ours! Our meals arrived no less than 40 minutes after ordering. The drinks to occupy us while we waited never did arrive when our meals finally arrived served (if slapping on the table warrants being called served three out of the five items that made up the meal were uncooked, cold unedible! The excuse given by the waitress, is far too busy and understaffed, yet despite not being able to fulfil the job paid for, they still take fee paying guests who are treated far less than second class citizens to the regular clientele supping at the bar! Far too busy but not enough to stop them from taking longer than necessary to laugh talking to the regulars! Needless to say, we ate at other places for the rest of our stay. DO NOT BE FOOLED, as we were by the reviews, which have stayed are extremely questionable indeed! If one is used to using hostels I can see this could be deemed as good, if not excellent accommodation. On the flip side, if one is used to hotels that are clean customer focused then this hotel (a grand name for nothing more than a public house with accommodation not a very good or pleasant one at that is not the one for you!!"
