"Went here for a late lunch with some friends as one of them had some 40% off main course vouchers! Result! ; Anyway, I went for the T-bone streak (medium rare which came with lovely, crispy and fluffy chips, onion rings and the rest! The steak itself was cook absolutely fine and I really enjoyed the meal...especially at that price! It just gets 4 stars as doesn't rate with some of the best steaks I've ever had. That's it. Also try their Sundaes if you have a sweet tooth...and if you can manage one! ; But definitely worth a visit as the food overall is very good. :"

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The service was excellent, and I really enjoyed trying the variety of drinks available. The atmosphere is great for relaxing with a beer, wine, or spirits—whatever you prefer. Plus, it’s a really cool spot and more affordable than the pubs. View menu

Went with colleagues for a nice pint of cold beer after a days work as the weather is nice. Brilliant view of the racecourse from the outside seating. Loads of parking spaces. Staff accommodating. Affordable price for drinks. Was a bit busy at some point that they stopped taking orders for food. Family friendly. Recommended. Will be back soon.

My friend and I had lunch here on a Saturday, and we had a fantastic experience. We both ordered steaks with different sides, and everything we tried was flawless—there was nothing we could complain about. The cocktails and desserts were delightful as well. All the staff were friendly, and our waitress, Betty, took excellent care of us; she was knowledgeable about the menu, served everything perfectly, and engaged in great conversation. We’re definitely planning to come back, and next time we’ll be sure to try the burgers!

A Lovely meal. We had the 12oz fillet steak it was served piping hot cooked to perfection. We also had the BBQ chicken ribs upgrading to the full rack. We were offered skinny fries or chunky triple cookies chips and we both chose the latter. We added a side of chunky slaw beer battered onion rings. All the food was very good. After this we were full so didn't order pudding so will have to return. Our server Emma was very helpful and is a real asset to this Beefeater. We'll done Emma all the staff at the Tattenham corner Beefeater. We will definitely return.

"I visited my elderly Mum today, she suggested going to the Derby Arms for a roast dinner as she'd eaten there recently with my sister. However they were fully booked, so I looked online and found Galu. The reviews were great and my Mum has only ever heard good things from friends and neighbours. So I called and booked for 12:45 Sunday 21st Jan 2024. We were both pleasantly surprised to see roast dinners on the menu ... Mum order lamb and I ordered beef part of their set menu. When the dinners arrived, you could see straight away that the lamb was Very Fatty (not even crispy) when my my tried eating it, it was both tough and chewy! As for the beef, this was cooked ok and edible, although I asked for the beef to be medium, but it was more well done. The waiter came over to ask if the meal was ok, I highlighted how the lamb was... the manager then came over and offered my Mum a slice of beef to compensate, bearing in mind she ordered lamb. Mum subsequently found that some of her roast potatoes were hard inside! I finished my meal, but could see Mum really didn't enjoy hers leaving a substantial amount on her plate, and having tried her lamb it really was inedible! We were then offered a full list of desserts rather than the set menu, having chocolate brownie and creme brûlée (both were gorgeous) When the bill arrived, I was hoping they would have somehow made amends, but alas no ... as Mum doesn't like to cause a fuss and it was her treat, I decided not to say anything, although the staff manager could tell we weren't happy. Having come from East Sussex for the day and regularly have great Sunday roasts in local pubs, I was hoping for something special in this restaurant, but sadly that wasn't the case. In fact it's probably one of the worst roast dinners I've had in a long time. I very much doubt we'll return ..."
