"we had booked the restaurant for our wedding anniversary.i booked it on line and requested a window table.when we arrived at the restaurant there was not a window table available !! the staff (zac and jenny)were very apologetic.however, the manager was conspicuous by his absence! we were placed at a table which was not what we had requested, but was acceptable,as i did not want my wife upset on our wedding anniversary. the food was excellent and,for the inconvenience,we were offerered an acceptable discount. i cannot praise zac and jenny enough for their service and the way in which they handled the situation regarding the lack of window table."

As usual enjoyed a fabulous meal in a very friendly and relaxed environment, I always look forward to going to this restaurant and never fails to meet expectations.

Excellent little restaurant! Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is delicious and great value for money, although the addition of a sorbet for dessert would be great. Wine is affordable. Could only be improved by dimming the lights a little to make it more romantic. Would also like a little more space between tables but the restaurant is tiny and we were offered a more secluded table halfway through. Overall, a really pleasant experience. Thank you. Hope to return one day View menu

a pleasant looking restaurant that soon lost its appeal, the service was exceptionally bad with it to be taken over 40 minutes for our beverage order, communication between the limited personal an obvious opportunity, no excuse given, service after that was sufficient, but in no way redeemed myself, in the did, when the table next to us was trying to see the waiter attentiveness of the screaming about the restaurant of the sorry to get busy but the food content in general were generous, but the quality was only average and certainly not good. one to give a miss, I fear,

we had booked a window table for the birthday of my wife and when we arrived, the window table had a reserved sign on it, so it was a very good start to the evening. the young lady who seemed to be responsible, sat at the table and gave us plenty of time to choose our starter and pornstar. my wife had the first time the bark strawgonoff as the main she said was excellent. I had the touringados rossini that I asked for medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. we will continue bella venezia on a regular basis and we do not have any reservations to recommend it to friends!

"We visit Peels about once a year, this is the third time we’ve chosen the tasting menu. We have always had a fabulous time. The format has changed so that you can choose either a 4 or 7 course tasting menu. There is now no a la carte option. We chose the 4 course tasting menu with the accompanying flight of wines. The flight of wines option was £55 each. In contrast to previous years, the wine served was very frugal. Between 4 people I doubt we enjoyed more 2 bottles of wine in volume, at the absolute most, though I appreciate you are getting the benefit of a wine description as it is being poured parsimoniously. The ingredient combinations for each of the four courses were quite safe bland, some of the textures not quite right. The meal was rescued a little by the chef’s additional extras which were more flavoursome than the main dishes. The environment the ambience were very enjoyable, though the service became a little ragged as the night wore on. We used gift vouchers which made a partial contribution to the meal (without going into detail) the handling of these was clumsy to say the least. Normally I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Peels but, on this experience given the expense, I couldn’t currently do so. In short, I suggest that Peels needs to up its game, especially where the food is concerned."
