"Spending many meal times in the charming Bernhard's restaurant in Oberaudorf, I always come away yearning for one more visit! I cannot ever get enough of their delicious soups, varied by the seasons; and I still stop by for a nightcap and even a dessert...when dining elsewhere! The marvelous service,comfortable surroundings, and zestful dishes from Chef Peter Bernhard, always brings me running back to this comfortable haven. The Vitello Tonnato AGAIN, and the gans leber parfait, still top my favorite lists. Anything with the homemade Roschti potatoes is never a bad choice; the potatoes are so typical of the Swiss style cuisine that occasionally slips into this Continental menu. Once, many years ago, two Venetian chefs made their famous liver and onions: I ate there every night during their visit. I SHALL return!"

What a wonderful place to visit and feel at home at the same time. The staff welcomed us as if we had been there before. The food was excellent! Very limited menu as only the best German foods were served. The decor was what you...would expect from a small restaurant located in the mountains of Bavaria. The added bonus to this lovely place was the beer. Wow. If you get to the area, you should make a reservation to eat at this local establishment. We ate both lunch and dinner at this establishment.

Suffering through a frightfully hot summer in the Bavarian Alps, it was a pleasure to cool down with new additions to the charming Bernhard 's menu. Listening to my friends go on and on about Vitello Tonnato, I finally dug into this incredible dish from Peter...Bernhard 's charming kitchen. It was sublime! As I started with an amazing Gaspacho Soup, well, what could be more cooling than this different dish? I will return often to this, my favorite Bavarian restaurant, while looking forward to the Herbst (Fall) Special Menus. Hope they last through November...............

So many meals here, and so many memories! Oberaudorf, our second home, was always my favorite spot in Europe, and this is my very special place. Lunch is when I am normally there, but I have had every kind of meal there! My friends from...Munich always join us, at least for one time or two, after a concert in Erl or a show in the Kursaal. I love the wiener schnitzel, but I do so love the Caesar Salad, a vey different one. The Swiss inspration of the chef, Peter Bernard, is always in view in the variety of dishes and inrgredients he uses. Such a great chef, wonderful service,, and beautiful setting. Enjoy one of my all time favorites!

Since I returned this past few days, five to be exact, I have eaten here three times! Sitting outside on a beautiful Bavarian evening, I enjoyed the best schnitzel ever my first evening. Naturally, it was accompanied by a Grener Veltliner, available by the glass...or bottle! Cooked to perfection, and seved with the best preiselbeern ever! Did I say that I also shared the Vitello Tonnato appetizer with my house guest? Yummy stuff!
