"great. we wanted to book 3 weeks in advance, but the only available time was 6 o'clock! what does that say? good parking on the main street, even directly outside. welcome. kitchen open to see, well placed covers and attentive staff. a special intro ' and the head on a board brought to the table. more excellent departure, not long to wait. I can say I don't like 'French pommes' they could come from mcdonalds) but everything else was perfect. clean toilets and beautiful simple furnishings. definitiw even to the high but reasonable praises."

I was very impressed with the restaurant, some fantastic dishes. I would recommend trying the snails, soup and the bream. Nice ambience and not too expensive

Visited for lunch, and as always didn't disappoint. The main portions were generous and very good. Recommend the garlic hotdog which came on a pretzel bun, lovely twist. Nice to come for lunch rather than dinner, and will visit again soon

Amazing place. This was my first visit and I'd heard so many good reviews of it. It didn't disappoint! Absolutely delicious food, wide-ranging menu, excellent service. Recent introduction of an adjoining bar next door allows you to enjoy drinks in the surroundings before and after, and we did! View menu

visited a night with my wife. started in her bar next door, which is really well left and decorated. the workers were really good and had snails and white wine as a snackhad menu in the main restaurant, which was really good and that was delicious. we both had fish, the beautifullybig food and restaurant

As I am new to the area, today was my first visit to Verite for lunch. The menu was refreshingly wide and eclectic. The food was superbly cooked , delicious and the components well chosen to provide a contrast of taste and texture. The service was excellent, being attentive but not obtrusive. A venue I look forward to visiting again and again.

It's been a while since I last dined here, but I can honestly say it is still one of the best meals I've ever eaten. The food is exceptional, the staff are super attentive and will go above and beyond without a hesitation. The venue is small but beautifully and intimate. If they weren't fully booked months in advance, I would dine here every week. View menu

Excellent menu, beautifully cooked and presented good. If recommend the sharing chateaubriand! Nice and relaxed atmosphere. Quite cosy, not cramped as such, but seating is thoughtfully laid out to maximise space. Staff all so professional, friendly and attentive. Would always recommend here, I think it's one of the strongest restaurants in the local area for a consistently excellent dining experience. Well done Bistrot Verité, and thank you for another wonderful evening x

After we have booked and read the fabulous reviews, we were very happy to do so. I'm afraid I was quite underwhelmed when I expected big things. the personal is pleasant and obligated, but eating was clearly average and was quite expensive. I was also worried about how many people were in a small room. I know the dings were difficult for the hospitality trade and everyone counts penny, but in the current Kovid situation it was to do. maybe we were just unhappy, but it was disappointed

"Friday night is busy for most, I 'm sure. Appalled by the service in all honesty. Staff seem smug and unattentive. It 's too much trouble to tend your (paying) needs. To be fair.. I am mostly speaking of one particular staff member, but it appears he is the manager/lead server. I can 't differentiate as there were no introductions.. I 'm not bothered about that; necessarily, I 'm trying to stay mutual, but last night, I was so disappointed. Staff leaning over you to take plates without communication of their intentions. I 'm wondering what this place is trying to be, fine dining, or just a typical restaurant.. their attitudes claim they are of the finer sort (including the prices) Poppadoms are made to seem complimentary as you wait. But don 't worry, they will charge you.. there 's a real lack of transparency and connection between customers/staff.. I did enjoy the food somewhat, but It wasn 't brilliant.. I 've had better at the local indian takeaway, in all honesty. The receipt was confusing too (party of 10) It was very difficult to figure out the full costs per person as it was all mixed up. Whilst trying to calculate the costs per individual said staff member was hovering around and made it seem such an inconvenience, and we felt rushed. I believe I am very fair and I always give people multiple chances, but his service was unacceptable... everything was a problem for him. Perhaps it 's a difference of cultures, however, having travelled the world to a a varying degree I have never felt this way, most places have made me feel welcome and this one of the reviews I have left feeling so strongly about it. Every person of the party has shared the same view, so I am not only speaking for myself. He delegated as to how much rice or sides we should have 'as he had accounted for it all ' Which leads me to believe they are aiming for a more prestigious type establishment.. There are very few places that offer THAT type experience in Southport.. and this is not the place. I don 't want to appear angry as I enjoy experiencing all types of food/environments etc etc. But this wasn 't the experience I was led to expect. I haven 't contacted the restaurant yet, but I don 't even know if anything I say (in regards to this visit) will have any effect on their future projections. I hope it was just a busy day, and they were a bit troubled with what was going on.. if that is the case, I will 100% give them another chance and hope that they can treat whomever may enter their restaurant in a manner of which is exciting and enjoyable. After further inspection of the final bill, there were extra items added on said waiter had 'accounted ' for what we required, yet we had far too much rice and other various sides. For example.. if you order 4 beers, it should state 4x beers, But they seem to work it: 1x beer, 1 x rice , 1 x beer, 1x rice, 1x beer, etc etc (for example) Even though we ordered drinks initially, which should all be counted in chronological order. I still have the receipt but didn 't want to post a picture as I 'm sure I have said enough to give a little embarrassment. We were very disappointed and haven 't stopped talking about it since. Don 't have such high expectations and you won 't be disappointed.
