"Other TA reviewers have said this about the Cafe des Acacias, but I cannot stress enough how much fun it is to encounter such a truly "French" restaurant! Our meal was "faith maison" from starters to dessert - made right on the premises - and everything was delicious: an artichoke tart, a pastilla (bits of chicken and Moroccan spices and nuts in pastry), veal liver and chocolate mousse. This isn't "fine dining" fare, but just honest, well-prepared food for the rest of us. Almost as good as the fare was the ambience - locals dropping by to have a "coupe de rouge" and jaw about politics and sports, the vaguely suspicious fellow who spoke surprisingly good English, the lady with her dog in tow at what appeared to be "her" corner table. All of this in a jolly and very friendly atmosphere. Not to be missed!"

A real French village restaurant. Owned and run by 2 large and jolly sisters. Took friends who live in Biot and we all really enjoyed a very good lunch. Not spoilt by tourism and just as it should be. Wonderful!

As a family of 5 we popped in for lunch. We were about to leave as a bit slow however suddenly we were attended to and, boy was it good! Traditional French cooking at its best- generous portions, more than delicious and very friendly. We will go back.

While staying with friends in Biot, visited this restaurant twice. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. I had fish on both occasions which was very reasonably priced and delicious. Was introduced to La Coupe Colonel, a dessert of lemon sorbet and vodka. House wine very good. Highly recommend. View menu

Had lunch here, after deciding it looked the most authentic, un-touristy restaurant in the area. We both had the "Plat du Jour" which was excellent value at €13. With a glass of Rosé each, the bills till only came to €31. Very good value. A very friendly, helpful lady served us and helped with the translation. Definitely recommended.

We've reviewed Acacias before - never a disappointing meal, copious portions, served promptly and hot!A friendly atmosphere, lots of the locals eat here - wine by the pichet but they offer a very reliable Cotes de Rhone too.Daily specials are worth a look and the a la carte menu covers most tastes and all the dishes are reasonably priced.A successful restaurant and well deserved too.

We were in France but we didn't speak French well, we just tried to. We went to buy a bottle of water also to see the place and to possibly return for lunch. Probably the owner, a woman, answered us 'Bonjour' when we tried to ask for the water forgetting to say hello because of the language difficulties. Then she said very quickly in French that they didn't sell anything to take away. She was very rude and she gave a bad image of the little village. Very rude. We didn't go back for lunch. View menu

Forget the fancy pretentious Michelin aspiring foodie places. This one is the real deal.If you wondered what happened to the Two Fat ladies on TV? Well they have been reincarnated in France and run the tastiest little joint in town. This is our second visit here in two weeks and the food is brilliant home cooking. Today we ate calamari provencale, goats cheese salad and even the simple melon with Parma ham and figs was superb. The osso buco was superb as was the lamb chicken and merguez couscous. Amazing desserts including a classic retro baked Alaska! Huge portions too! Service appears slow to get your order in as they can get busy but the drinks and food then arrive quickly. Definitely my f...

We were there for dinner. After a few minutes a grumpy waiter forced me to hold their big chalk where the plates of the day were promoted. We ordered Pizza in french language á la carte and well - it was obviously not what we expected. Every one got bread we did not. After asking for some they served 4 little slices which is to me insulting. We asked if the Mozzarella on top is a grated one or fresh chopped. It´s totally okay if not but lying it will be is a no go. We complained when it was served but the waitress just left the table. Wine was okay, Salmon pizza was an average one.Biot is a lovely village! There are a few alternatives. Every year during a big fair me and 20 other living in a...

"Arrived today and had reservation at the restaurant for this evening , were running a bit late so emailed them to ask to postpone for 30 mins, quick response with "no problem madam , all done for you" - so first good point , fast and active communication .We came on time (6 adults plus my 9 months old daughter ). Table waiting , baby chair ready , we all jet lagged so no wine or offer alcohol we say - ok , that's it , no more annoying "you sure you don't want to see the wine menu" business . As my husband is allergic to prawns and we all do not eat pork (as I stated that originally in the reservation ) our host double checked who is allergic to prawns and what other allergies or requests we have, here , another positive - they read what you let them know in your reservation !Now , the place itself - is gorgeous . Yes , it is on the side of the road , yet that did not seem to faze anyone : beautiful olive treats , open terrace with curly wild grape instead of thr roof , gorgeous jasmine smell ( coincidence my daughter is named Yasmeen ). Not too many tables outside and inside , yet you have plenty of space . Several menues going : a la carte, surprise menu , set menu ...all very in amount of dishes you get and prices. We opted for a la carte . So first chefs gift is note size snacks : cheese madeleines, broccoli and vinegar tart ( super nice as broccoli still crunchy and hint of vinegar is just strong enough to come through) , then followed truffle foam served in little cups as if that was green tea !My squid made two ways ( one chef's take on deep fried and the other is marinated ) as a garnish came along seviche ( raw squid bits with cucumber , mint and spices ) and boy did it raise the dish - refreshing , tingling , not overpowering taste of mint yum yum !Another starter was asparagus gnocchi - tender and one bit size with some eatable gold on top , definitely worth a try . Most interesting starter that my husband had was porcini mushrooms tart - not only beautifully presented little cake with thinnest slices of mushroom "kings " the purée or sauce inside ( mushrooms with veg and spices - almost like a mashed potato but mushroom - loving it !Main courses had both meat and fish options. I opted for veal sweetbreads -most delicate with crunchy bits and absolutely winner of a sauce : veal with some braised onion !Another great starter was the beef . Granted , there is no rocket science in making a great steak, in theory , but practice often proves us wrong . This meat was so tender and delicate , it literally melted in my mouth - so delicious yet bold dish - steak on a bed of ground black pepper : simple and beautiful !Fillet of turbot was cooked to perfection , working on the contrast with the bed of green beans it was served on. Deserts . Oh deserts . The host did ask us for our preferences in the beginning of the meal , as 4 out of 7 deserts take 45 mins to cook :) Personally , I opted for a trio of apricots : soufflé with apricot jam on the bottom , apricot sorbet with cold early grey tea and raw apricot and raw almond tart . Honestly , dish of the day ! So light , not at all sweet , beautiful presentation ! Another winner was lemon : as meringue and with thin pan cake like crust - wakes you up better than coffee! Which we did order after and yet you get more sweets : surprise ! That raspberry and pistachio tart with raspberry chard is still dancing in front of my eyes ! Those simple combinations , yet taken to the new level ! As we waiting for the bill (yes came up to 700€ but no one expects anything else choosing place as such ) there comes Michael Fulci himself to ask customers about their food - how pretty darn good is that ? ! Honestly , I couldn't fault it if I wanted to. So much positive experience : the food , the atmosphere , the people - family friendly by the way as apart from my 9 months old baby , there was another family with 2 kids slightly older. No snobby faces , all staff are smiling , food is so up there ! Will be definitely going back and as someone who has visited various Michelin starred restaurants in Europe , I am save to say this one is amongst my top 3!!Bravo!"

"Just scandalous! I put a star because we can’t put zero. I don’t know what to start ... Like all the customers we had to eat with our jackets since there was no heating....I specify that we are in the middle of December, with the rain that day making the air even more wet. In addition to that, on the restaurant’s pancarte, it is listed as a “heated room” and that the manager welcomes us by saying “Today it’s really cold!” (with the retreat very certainly to put us in condition... increase of the EDF probably. It starts well... The manager presents us her card, made of salads, with her “delightful olive oil” that she sells in her grocery store below...., She insists heavily that we take her “homemade” wine. Frigorized the salad doesn’t tempt us despite its “delightful olive oil” we take the only “dish” hot a croque gentleman accompanied by chips to 10€ for my son (menu child, my mom and myself. For the wait a very small plate of 2 unhappy crusts (for 3, already tartined, with tapenad we are served. Then the plates arrive... the final estocade: I unfortunately didn’t think of taking a photo, a tiny croc gentleman (half bread clearly bought in large heated surface very certainly in the oven, garnish completely any, derisory and worst accompanied by real commercial chips! Yes yes you have read well, chips, those in supermarket bags, the ones you buy for the picnic, which you offer free in PMU!!!! . I have never seen this! I was convinced to have homemade potato chips! Those to which one expects when one goes to eat in a restaurant but not. Unfortunately my parents educated me too well, we did not dare to refuse the dishes ... and we paid 40€ for it... As if the 40€ had not enough it insists again with the same « finesse » so that we bought something in her grocery store. We left completely frozen, having had the very unpleasant feeling of having been taken for money pumps. What a shame!"
