"Food was very good although very small portion size and expensive for what you get. The restaurant is very dated (multi function room in the hotel also used for breakfast etc), so not a nice experience. The service was like watching a creepy and gushy Laurel and Hardy show. 2x over the top waiters (sorry one was just a sommelier why? It’s not exactly a top notch fine dining restaurant) who were both ‘OTT’ one minute and the completely ignored you the next when you actually wanted something. Value for money poor. Expensive, small portions, billed for two bottles of wine when we only had one and then they automatically added an additional £20 tip to our bill to rub salt in to the wound. I won’t recommend and won’t be back again."

The food at Cambium was sublime. Beautifully cooked and presented. A real joy in the heart of the New Forest. For me Soufflé, Wellington, Cheesecake classics done to perfection. Attentive knowledgeable service in a delightfully busy hotel dining room.

We were at the hotel to my Husbands 60. celebrating birthday and dinner in the evening, we were not disappointed. Beautiful table very good service, attentive, but not intrusive. The food was excellent with the full works and each course was a joy. Would recommend.

Unfortunately both my and my husband’s main course were overcooked, (medium rare steak arrived well done). The staff reacted quickly, removed our food and side dishes. The replacements arrived 10 mins later with fresh, hot sides and we continued our evening. We weren’t charged for our meals and were offered a glass of champagne. Team saved the night.

The Cambium is comfortable, very clean and pleasant the staff is attentive and very helpful. I can't blame that. The main vegetarian thing was very overpriced for the food, but it was made available. The Butternut Squash Pasta was an incredibly small portion and really pretty bland. We are very pleased to pay a reasonable price for good food, but this was incredibly overpriced for what it was and vegetarians / vegans in this respect not well looked after and I would not recommend or re-book. We had eaten in the Thai restaurant on the eve and the prices were similar, the food was from a far better standard for vegetarians and I was happy to pay the price and would be happy back.
