"On my last night in Bonn, I wanted to take my host family out for dinner and they chose Ristorante Canal Grande. From the moment we were seated on their outdoor patio until we left after sun down, I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful ending to a wonderful vacation. The young woman who waited on us was warm and funny, and did her best to translate the German into English for me. All of the appetizers were huge, more than enough for four, and the meals were delicious, as was the pizza. Dessert was yummy and my friends who drank, enjoyed their cocktails very much. Only one glitch to the entire evening - the restaurant does NOT accept American credit cards, so I had to sheepishly ask my friends to pay and the next day, I repaid them. Management might want to include a note advising guests of this upfront to avoid any embarrassing situations!"

Very disappointing meal. We waited ages to be served by exceptionally rude waiter. Pasta dish was watery with no real flavour and very little meat/fish. Will never return to this restaurant.

today I went to lunch to the canal grande, and at the first sight he was full. To the luck we somehow got a free place to sit and eat. we first ordered antipasta, which was very expensive, for someone who is not. .

We always like to go to the Grand Canal. The noodles are great, our children love the pizza just delicious. In addition to the great food, we appreciate the warm and dear service. And by the way, you have a great view of the Rhine! View menu

Not even worth a star, wait an hour for a Cola and another 30 minutes for a pizza that was not right, the Kellener's statement is just that. First and last time have been there!!! Of course, I raised it his argument was that the new and too little staff is there and he can't do anything for it, I'm so sorry! Save the money and buy a pizza at Aldi.

Today I went for a lunch to Canal Grande, and from a first sight it was full. Luckily somehow we got a free place to seat and eat. We first ordered antipasta which was high way expensive (one is 15e). For one who are not sure what is, usually you can eat it before main meal... three pieces of brusceti with tomatoes cost us 15e. I've ordered pizza, that for Italian restaurant (they declarated for) was really nothing special. All in all, good way to spend part of a day next to the river bank and enjoy some ordinary food.

Bonn is a charming city on the Rhine, known for Beethoven's birthplace. Typical dishes include Sauerbraten, Rhenish mussels, and Himmel un Ääd, a mix of mashed potatoes and apples.
