"I booked The Old Vicarage for my mams 40th birthday as a surprise. From the very beginning contacting the Vicarage they were AMAZING. So friendly, approachable helpful. Everything was so simple easy....I had been looking forward to coming for MONTHS. My Mam screamed with excitement as we pulled up on the driveway (she’s always wanted to come here and always heard good things). The hosts were AMAZING, the house and the atmosphere was AMAZING. Having the whole experience for your own group makes the setting so intimate and private it was beautiful. You sooo get your moneys worth with your menu, the food was absolutely to die for the best food I’ve ever tasted in my life. It’s not very often a group of 10 people can go somewhere for food and every single one of them say every single course was amazing. The drink prices were so reasonable too, same as you would pay in a normal pub. Amazing. We will definitely be coming again. ???????? thank you all for the most amazing night"

"Arrived having booked a table very little organisation when being seated. Ordered with a little confusion but got there in the end then waited around 90 minutes for food 3 pizzas and a burger. Would like to say it was worth the wait but it really wasn’t. Poor cheap pre made bases that were more like bread , generally looked like a really poor standard pizza and tasted even worse. This was a half price deal and still felt it was over priced due to quality. Burger better but not hot kitchen staff seemed to spend a lot of time reading the orders but not many dishes were appearing and those that were must have had things left standing due to the temp of the burger. There were 2/3 staff and the place wasn’t busy so no reasons for delays for simple food. Waiting staff didn’t come to ask if the food was ok either during the meal or when I paid the bill I’m guessing they knew it wasn’t !? Left and went to a local dessert take out place instead. Wasn’t willing to spend more than I already had. Wouldn’t return to pay double for absolutely horrible low standard food. It’s a shame cos the court house under its previous owners was a fabulous place and firm favourite with a good quality menu. This was cheap mass produced (albeit slowly rubbish but not priced accordingly. Just because the surroundings are lovely will not be enough to make people pay over the odds for poor meals. I have noticed reviews are turned off on their Facebook page maybe that should have been a clue. Won’t be back."

"In the past, It may have received awards and accolades for its cakes and pastries, but of late it wouldn't merit any for its customer services or lack of it, most certainly as one female member of staff is concerned. What can only be seen as utter disrespect and total rudeness, with regards to the manner in which she has treated both my wife and I, over the past weeks. For some unknown, to us, but blatantly obvious reason to her, by her actions, has on four separate occasions over four weeks,.purposefully taken to not honour a reserved table booking request, which on this last occasion , the reservation was taken by her. On a previous occasion she said she thought the couple she let use the table would have left, that was after two hours? Last week after again she let the reserved table go, we were offered another table as long as we didn't stay too long? Not two hours then? On this last occasion, we walked in to see this member of staff serving at the table we reserved, looking up blankly at us, we just walked out, never to return. In old parlance we are regulars, loyal customers who have been going there for years. Even after Lockdown we made a concerted effort to support them, seeing other businesses fold, through lack of customers. In the past, we never reserved a table but was told it was much easier for them if we did, so we did. It appears others can reserve tables as is but for this member of staff we obviously, for some reason or other, don't qualify? Needless to say, we will find an alternative eatery to make our weekly visits to, one without a rude and disrespectful member of staff. In closing and in balance all the other staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Lorraine and Paul amongst others. There's always one?! Good luck to the New owners, with her attitude you are certainly going to need it."

"I have to say that whoever bakes the cakes at this restaurant needs to come and live in my house forever because as soon as I take a bite, I feel like a kid in a candy store with all the delicious treats they have to offer! I had never been to the café portion before a few weeks ago when my mother and I stopped by after breakfast in Newcastle. Despite already eating, I couldn't resist a second breakfast and ended up ordering a hot chocolate, which was absolutely amazing! The staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is lovely. Knitsley Farm Shop is truly something special and I can't stop raving about it. I just need to remember that they are closed on Mondays to avoid showing up and being disappointed!"
