"Located at the tip of Findhorn, this cafe is a fantastic spot with a great selection of food and drinks. It is also dog friendly, making it a perfect place for pet owners. After dining, take a walk down to the shore for a lovely experience. The parking situation can be a bit tricky as the track to the car park next to the restaurant is a bit rough, but there is another car park on the right just before it, next to the motorhome site. The service is top-notch, with a rating of 5 out of 5. The atmosphere is also excellent, earning another 5 out of 5 rating. The price per person for a meal is around £20-30. Some recommended dishes include the Fish Finger Sandwich. Overall, this cafe comes highly recommended for a delicious meal. Free parking is available in the parking lot."

Compared to last year at the same time, the restaurant has declined in quality, especially in terms of their seafood options. The average cost per person for a meal is between £1 and £10.

Went here for some food while staying in Findhorn the Food was excellent and the staff were very attentive. Ideal place for a drop in for something to eat after a walk along the seafront.

From the outside it doesn't look anything special but the inside decor is nice. We canoed over and had some bacon rolls which had lovely thick bacon in it, they were delicious! It looks like they get entertainment in for evenings which could be fun.

Stunning seaside location, with tables inside (some with a sea view) and outside. Great service and food, and even the seagulls were polite enough to wait until people left their tables before seizing on the left overs! We popped in for coffee on a windy, cold Friday, didn't know what to expect, but we loved this place. The modern woodburner and stylish decor gives a scandi feel. Coffee quickly turned to lunch after a review of the menu. Tasty brisket fries and the best lentil soup I've ever tasted, all served by a friendly team. If I didn't live three hours away, I'd be back every weekend. Thank you!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The restaurant has a fantastic setting with beautiful seating and tables, and the staff were nice. They were very accommodating for dogs as well. The atmosphere was excellent. However, the food was disappointing. We ordered two scampi and chips at £15 each, but the chips were cold and greasy and the salad only consisted of lettuce and a small tomato. The scampi was greasy and oddly shaped, and even the tartare sauce was flavorless. Overall, I would recommend the Captains Table to improve their food quality to match their great atmosphere. "Genuinely couldn't fault the experience. When I heard that the Drouthy had a new menu focusing more on a veggie and vegan base, I knew I had to give it a whirl. The starter of hot Smoked salmon with lemon creme fraiche and oatcakes was simple yet packed full of flavour. I could have easily have had 10 plates of that and been happy to give it 5 stars. My partner had the smoked duck and even though I have given up meat, I was salivating at the look of their dish. They assure me that it was as delicious as it looked. Served with lavender roasted potatoes (which I'm told were amazing and charred salsify. The mains were more than a match for the brilliant starters. If I could give one piece of advice, it would be get the beetroot risotto. Not being a massive fan of beetroot, I wasn't too sure about it. But the incredibly warm waiter (for my son's, I never got his name. I only hope he can forgive me if he reads this! assured me it was tasty. He was not wrong. Beautifully cooked vegan risotto with balsamic beetroot chunks, shiitake mushrooms and rocket, it was simply divine. WHEN I go back, I'll be hard pressed to go for anything else because it was so delicious. It was creamy, packed full of flavour and cooked absolutely perfectly. Just the right amount of bite, nowhere near being mush like you get in a lot of other places (who charge a lot more, by the way . Superb. The highest of compliments to the chef. I was so taken by my dish I forgot to ask how my partner's was until I had eaten all of mine. But their home made vegan tagliatelle had disappeared from the plate so it must have been amazing. I couldn't handle dessert so had a delicious ruby port (delaforce I think it was called , and I would also like to give credit to whoever came up with their wine list. It covered every single base and no-one could ever be disappointed. Finally, if you're ever in Elgin, please make sure this is one of your destinations. You will leave extremely happy."
