"Nice little restaurant in the center of Icod. The cuisine is local and the portions are huge. The staff is generally very friendly. However, we were in an organised tour, which suggested we should have eaten there. We were not forced, so we looked for options in the fork app and we saw this with 30% discount, so we booked and decided to go there in the end. After the meal, the owner told us in a really rude way that we were not entitled to the discount because we were part of the tour. While we could vaguely understand his point of view, we suggest not to offer the discount if you are not ready to give to us. In any case, that’s not the appropriate way to treat clients. I’m still giving 5.5 because the staff and the portions are remarkable but please avoid dealing with the owner if you want to have a good experience."

The food is plentiful, but not my expectations. The Canary soup was really nice, very tasty. We also had a grilled fish, but the fish was not grilled at all. Instead, they swim in garlic butter and quite salty, which ruins the meal. the potatoes served with it were also very salty, which did not improve the experience. On the positive side the bread was good and the house white wine was vet good (light and fruity). The staff is also very friendly. All in all not too bad, but not what we expected after we read other reviews. At least you don't work with hunger or broken!
