"This was my first visit to Chai Paani and I was looking forward to trying it. Everything about it was poor: The decor is very basic, we wouldn 't have minded that if everything else, especially the food had been good. They were playing George Michael 's 'Last Christmas ' when we arrived. They played it again and again and they were playing it when we left. It would have been hilarious if it hadn 't been so horrible. The staff paid much more attention to selling the new shop they had set up, some sort of sweet mart nearby. Every table got given a talk by a server about it and left with a leaflet. It might have been of interest if Chai Paani had been better. The food was ordered and whilst we were waiting we were told the table was too small to put the food on, so it would come in dribs and drabs. That was okay for us. Everything that arrived the chaats, the pani puri etc all tasted the same a thick tangy sauce that tasted of preservative. It was unpleasant. We asked for pani puri water and were told there was a separate charge for it which is unusual given we ordered pani puri. After that food was cleared away, the dosa came it was the wrong order and the manager did replace it with the right one. Again, it tasted of the same horrible tangy sauce. We were asked how the food was when we went to pay and we explained the above, but they weren 't really interested. There is so much competition for food on Belgrave Road, Chai Paani needs to try harder if it going to stay relevant. We won 't be returning. What was good about it? We were seated quickly. The manager took away the wrong dosa that was bought and got us the right one. Neither of these things are things to shout about though."

The service was excellent and the food was served hot. The prices were reasonable as well. We will definitely return when we are in Leicester again.

I found this restaurant on Melton Road to be a hidden gem. The service is top-notch and the food is affordably priced and served quickly. I highly recommend this place for both the delicious food and excellent service.

Expensive for what you get, ordered a paratha for our 1 year old, cam with zero butter, it was dry and crispy, asked for some butter to be spread on it and was told I have to pay for it, what a joke, main dish came pretty much all sauce hardly any panner.

It was an amazing experience. The food was amazing. The staff was amazing. They made sure we had enough food and were full. The staff were very kind about the complaints we had. Food was one of the best and there was a massive variety. Same goes with the drinks.

My family love this place. Not the cleanest, but the food is good and value for money. Those serving are not the friendliest but you get a great meal. Great vegetarian (only) choices. And we will continue going. NB. This place is closed on Wednesdays, which really annoys the family!

I ordered takeaway for a small party at home, and it was delicious. All our guests praised the food, except for the chapati. I recommend using high-quality flour like East End or Pillsbury, even if it increases the price slightly. People won't mind paying for quality. Thank you for the fantastic food!

We always visit this place for lunch or dinner when we are in Leicester, as it is a pure vegetarian restaurant. This time we chose to have a take away for dinner as we did not have enough time to seat and eat. The service was very quick, as usual, from the time we ordered our items. They have a huge selection of tasty items on their menu. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

This restaurant is fantastic! I always get a tiffin from here for less than £10. It includes 2 curries, dhal, rice, 4 chapattis and a sweet. The food is full of flavor, tastes fresh like a homemade meal, and is hearty and satisfying. This is my favorite Indian takeout spot in Leicester. I have ordered from here 3 times this week and each time, my 2 curries were different. The restaurant has a food hygiene rating of 5.

We were seated very next to another table and before we know it another table was put close up to our other side, absolutely no privacy and feeling squashed in between. The food was bland and tasteless. Our Crispy bhajia came with a table spoon of Chutney, I asked for some more. At the time of paying our bill I saw a charge for extra Chutney when I explained that this was unreasonable the Manager refused to accept my explanation and demanded I pay, which I was going to do anyway. Food prices have gone up but that doesn't mean you rip off clients , charge in every other way possible and show no respect. Been visiting this restaurant for many years but Won't be revisiting. Beware fellow patron...

"Went here last night at the tail end of an office Christmas party and we stumbled (quite literally inside having been turned away at a restaurant next door. It was past closing though their OPEN sign was still on. Anyway! Although Oppa was just about to close, they took us in, a group of 6, and stayed open until we finished. When I realized we were in a Korean restaurant, I was so excited; I've been searching for a good Korean restaurant in the midlands. My colleagues were much less so as they had never had Korean food and were unfamiliar with everything on the menu. I ordered for everyone and despite some of them being difficult one colleague kept asking for samosas, aah! the service was faultless. Staff were super attentive and helpful, patient, friendly, good fun, and extremely accommodating. Just perfect! And they stayed open for us quite late without rushing us out, what more can you ask for? Ok, so the food. It was SO so good and I'm already planning to go back. The kimchi was bang on how I like (a big deciding factor for me strongly fermented/pickled and spicy, and fresh. All the bulgogi (marinated meat , dolsot bibimbap (sizzling rice bowl , jjigae (stew/ramen style soups , seafood and extras that were served tasted just like I had hoped they would. Presentation was great everything looked properly appetizing and vegetables and seafood, etc were all clean and fresh. I was too busy stuffing my face and enjoying the moment and company to take photos, but the few photos I've seen on here are true to life. Other things people might be interested in: This restaurant is kitted out to cook Korean BBQ at/in/on your table. It is spacious, with lots of tables and room to move around. Decor is tasteful and minimal. It is clean and indeed I was warned by staff when going upstairs to the ladies' to be careful as the stairs and the toilets had all just been cleaned (and clean they were! . If you're looking for good Korean food, look no further. If you're looking to try Korean food for the first time, this is a great place to start. Go for it! Might see you there, if I can help it :D [I've copied this review over from where I originally posted it because this listing and the one for OPPA in Leicester are the same exact restaurant, FYI]"
