"This place is just around the corner from my work and I've been here many times. Sorry to be boring but I always order the chicken noodle salad which is so tasty I'm actually salivating right now just thinking about it. You get a huge amount for what you pay for so its great value! Chicken noodle salad is literally noodles with a bit of cabbage/carrot/lettuce and heaps and heaps of lemongrass chili chicken. Brilliant authentic flavours! And there is always a queue at lunch so its gotta be good right?"

Tried the different rice boxes and eat them on the steps of Saint Paul's on a nice day. Very nice food.

The Vietnamese food at this restaurant is delicious. I highly recommend trying the pork noodle salad. There can be long lines around 12:30pm, but it is definitely worth the wait.

Cheap Vietnamese eatery that does a host of yummy Vietnamese fastfood dishes. I had the beef with lemongrass bún, it's was pretty good especially when considering the £7.50 price tag.

I enjoyed a delicious meal of lemongrass pork, rice, and salad at this restaurant. The staff was friendly and the service was great. I will definitely return, despite the fact that it is a 15-minute walk from my office. View menu

The smell of this lovely place drifts up me every weekday morning. If a review can just be based on smell , this place gets five stars. But fro the numbers who glitch here for lunch, I suspect value nutrition and taste are a match for smell!

Really enjoyed the tasty authentic food.I had rice with chicken curry (which had sweet .potato and potato chunks) and lemongrass chicken (half and half). The spring rolls were super fresh and tasty. My husband had the pork chop special was beautifully seasoned. Friendly staff and nice ambience. Would highly recommend.

Working in the area and a colleague recommended this place. More expensive than a sandwich, you can eat in or take away and there is usually a very big queue outside. It's tasty food. I have not strayed from the bahn mi so far. Spicy and tasty it packs a punch. They also do lots of others things, noodles, soups, salads and prawn crackers. Well worth finding out about. View menu

I was searching for a unique dining option while exploring the St. Paul's area of London and stumbled upon Chao! There was a small line outside, but the smell of the food was enticing. I opted for the chicken curry and rice, and found a stool to sit on inside the restaurant. The facilities were simple but sufficient. The service was very pleasant and efficient, with a quick turnover of customers. I would definitely return to Chao! in the future.

Me and my friend often go to Chao! for a Vietnamese chicken curry and summer rolls. The food is excellent large pieces of chicken are nicely cooked and very tender, the sauce has enough kick to it, however we always get an extra spicy chili paste, which we absolutely love. The service is very efficient and friendly.Chao! is extremely popular with long queues form outside, which in my opinion only proves the quality of their food.Recommend to everyone, top marks!

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
