"A lovely old Pub. About 900 yards from the Racecourse. We stayed for 2 nights over the weekend of the 8/9th of June. Our room was a little small, but perfectly adequate. The shower was hot and powerful. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and tidy. The room overlooked the main road and due to single glazing(It's a listed building, so nothing they can do about that) a little road noise. No trouble sleeping after a few beers! Unfortunately there is no parking. However there is a pay and display just around the corner. We had a main meal and breakfast and both were top notch. We were made to feel very welcome by Dave the owner and Kayleigh the Manager, who couldn't do enough for us despite being heavily pregnant. Never stayed here before, but now we've found it, it will be our go to place to stay when going to the races. Keep doing what you're doing and hope to see you in November! Elaine Adrian"

Pub dinner after a walk in the Wye Valley. Great food, friendly welcome, good value. We had pies and sausage and mash, big portions with lots of gravy. Pies fantastic. Will come again when in the area View menu

We stayed here at the start of our Offa’s Dyke walk. Very dog friendly and very friendly staff. Comfortable room and superb breakfast. Evening meal was delicious (breaded Brie and halloumi fries starters followed by scampi and steak and Stilton pie with proper chips and jam sponge with custard).

Nice meal and served in a flash. Lots of gravy and pie is a real pastry pie, not a casserole with a topping as you get some places. Cheesy mash was good too. Nice family pub but not too foody, still good for a drink, but no real ale. Large TV screens showing ducks on a pond for some reason. Bit quirky. View menu

Had booked a table for 6 but ended up being a 10 which I thought would have been a problem but the Owner was amazing he managed to fit us all in at the same time as a large Christmas party. He explained there maybe a wait but in the end there wasn't. Majority of us chose the pies which were amazing. Would highly recommend this place just on their customer service alone.
