"We came across this restaurant on its first opening night. We decided to try it because of its peaceful location away from the crowds in front of a picturesque, lit up church. We were dubious about the south-east Asian inspired menu, but we gave it go, and we did not regret it! This was the only restaurant we visited twice whilst staying in avignon! The curries were cooked to perfection, with soft meats, perfect spice combination and al-denté vegetables - served with the perfect sized portion of infused rice. I had a French tart for dessert one evening which was served with a ginger infused chocolate sauce - amazing! The cocktails were lovely, I particularly enjoyed the lychee martini, and they offer a list of Asian beers. The staff were lovely and welcoming, and we are so sad that this restaurant isn't local to us in Paris! But it will definitely be the first restaurant we visit on our return to Avignon."

The appetizers were fantastic with spring rolls and mimes and the seafood and pork curry meatballs were out of this world, finished off with po de chocolate. The atmosphere and wine was perfect! View menu

We loved the place, the menu, the dishes and the desserts. The card is original and appetizing and the dishes that followed to the height of the map. Welcome to the team. We will return and strongly advise the Colonies.

One star off for the name. Besides that - excellent restaurant, not cheap but offers great service, nice outdoor seating, amazingly fresh and tasty food, very well presented. It was an excellent surprise and everything was just on point.

We tried the restaurant for lunch and were really glad that we did. The service was fast and the young waiters were efficient. The dishes were delicious and reasonably priced. We had the Thai salad, Bo Boun, Wok shrimps, .. and everybody was happy with their order. View menu

We ate there on the las week of july 2017. At the beggining we were dubitanting about the menu, because it's some kind of fusion of french-asian food. I ordered the typical beef steak tartar, that was prepared with wasaby, soy, coriandre. I mean a combination that was unexpected for me. but I have to confess that the taste was amazing. The service of the waiters was very profesional. It's a place were I would go again if I naver go back to avignon.

My partner and I went Colonial for dinner at the recommendation of a local Avignon restaurateur and we can't stop raving about it. We sat outside in a beautiful square surrounded by a picturesque church. When we were ready to order, the owner came out and presented us with the menu (written on a menu board - as it appears to change nightly) and we ordered mojitos, a whole fish with coconut curry, some Asian salads, and dessert. We were blown away by the food. The drinks were well made, the fish was fresh from the Mediterranean and beautifully cooked, the salads were delicious, and the desert was creative and tasty. The owner was really lovely and extremely hospitable. Overall we had a wonder...

"I'm a regular here, and I'm not the only one lol! This place is always packed, it's both a locals haunt and a place where well-advised tourists end up. I meet my friends here, I meet my colleagues here, I meet half the town here...And it draws out the locals every evening with good reasons! So, first off: Convenience. Just on the bank of the river, this place has it's own parking.Next, atmosphere: Clean shabby chic orientated decor, open central kitchen, usually pretty crowded, Italian chef.... This place has got the atmosphere where it should be for modern tasty Italian cuisine.Service: populated by hipster and punkette style waiters and waitresses, they might not be warm nor welcoming, but they polite and competent. The service is prompt and the wine suggestions correct.Food: my FAVOURITE part! I love Italian, and I just appreciate a place that does it right so much! Simple, clean, modern and tasty!Their pizzas are beyond a doubt the best in the region, special mention for the Bianca and the Cosi. Their pasta is mouth watering. But I always find the best on their menu to be their dish of the day (for example duck filet with apricots, tuna steak with Italian sauce, roast filet mignon...) and their veal schnitzel. In fact I am a regular to this place almost solely because of their veal schnitzel. Just gorgeous!Oh and their desserts.... Are just delicious, special mention for the raspberry-lemon-white chocolate parfait!Once again, this is not a budget eat-all-you-can low end pizzeria. The prices are midrange. But the cuisine is authentic and impeccable, the setting very pleasant, and it is definitely a place you will come back to after trying it once."
