A wonderful lunch cozy surroundings watching Storm Agnes starting to get angry as the sea was breaking over the harbour walls! The food was sublime. The service excellent. The atmosphere relaxed. We have found the standard of food here to be exceptional and the quality of service to match. Some of the best food we've had in a long time. We booked for lunch having just arrived on the sleeper from London to Edinburgh. We had the three course option every one was delicious, full of flavour and exquisitely presented. We had sea trout, beetroot mousse, ox cheek and halibut. We didn't have dessert but I'm certain that would have been just as good. The location is fabulous and we had a table by the window looking out over the water. Perfect. (A minor point in such a lovely, quiet location with just the sound of the seabirds, we didn't think the piped music was necessary, and in fact was a bit of a distraction).
