"We came here today with family, and our 3 small dogs, as it is a dog friendly place. Two of our dogs are nervous, and are much happier on laps. Both dogs are harmless. We were told to put the dogs on the floor due to hygiene reasons. But in a matter of fact manor. Secondly I ordered a chocolate milkshake, but it was more like a very sweet caramel milkshake. Not sure what went wrong! I did return it back, for it to sent back out to me with more caramel added and even more sweeter, without a hint of chocolate colour. We also ordered several brie, bacon and cranberry panini’s, and was promised crispy bacon. We were served soggy panini’s and the bacon was not crispy. Overpriced for what we received, and generally staff we not overly friendly. Unsatisfied experience"

Called in on way back to Liverpool from Stainsacre. Only been once before but was so impressed tried again. Friendly staff as before and the warm scones with jam and butter were possibly the best ever bought Well done all

After checking trip advisor, called in for cake and coffee after a hill walk. Service prompt, polite. 4 good cakes eaten. Scone was good squirty whipped cream (as ordered) let it down. I'd rather pay for clotted cream but that's my choice. Nice cosy cafe. View menu

Friendly girls taking orders but unfortunately we weren't impressed. The baked potatoes were frozen ones no different to a mccain one and the Greek salad was awful..the cheese tasted off and the salad was dry and needed dressing on it . Certainly not worth the price , .try the Sandwick shop next door..much better value.

Visited for lunch. As a coeliac who is lactose intolerant I never get cake but today I had a magnificent choc orange gluten free dairy free cake that not only tasted amazing but absolutely made my day. The strawberry banana smoothie that I had with it was also great. Fantastic place for anyone with an allergy looking for a treat. Staff were also great and humoured me for my child like joy at getting cake for a change big thank you to them

Whilst driving around and admiring the scenery, we stopped in Helmsley. What a beautiful little town. I loved it...needed some sustenance, so we called in at Crema Coffee House for a quick pit-stop. I just had a cold drink but the other half had a pot of tea and a slice of Victoria Sponge. Both looked lovely and were reasonably priced. It was a very warm day so we sat in the small courtyard garden at the back of the shop. Would recommend...great little place. View menu

Looked inviting, it was raining so we ventured in and ordered. Falafel salad came without hummus and a tiny side of couscous was ice-cold. Straight from the fridge. They charged an extra pound for one pitta, which should really have been part of a £9 dish. My two companions ordered paninis and the restaurant couldn’t be bothered to cook some potato chips to serve with this. Instead they laid out a few cheap crisps from a bag. For this delight they charged £8. Overpriced for lazy, mediocre food.

Nice welcome on entering, shown to a corner table for two. Immediately decided to find another table due to extremely loud lady on next table . Ordered two Coffee 's, One Fruit Scone and One Carrot Cake. Coffee was fine, Carrot Cake was stale, very low quality and a Blind Tasting would not identified as Carrot Cake. Fruit Scone was on the Small side, served with Jam and Cream but no Butter ?. Total bill of over £14 would have been just bearable if the Quality had been a lot higher. Very disappointed.

"The problem began with our arrival. We are 3 adults in our mid-60s and we had already climbed one set of steps to access the bar in the pub. We were escorted to our room up two more flights of narrow stairs. On entering our room, we could smell the damp in the room and discovered mould on walls behind furniture and in the corners of the window frames. We checked the prices of the evening meals on offer and there wasn't enough variety for our party and they were quite expensive. So we decided to eat out. I asked what time the pub closed and was told, when the last customer leaves. I thought that was a bit vague so I said that we would be back at 10-ish. We arrived back just after 10pm to find all entrances to the pub were fully locked up and we were unable to get in. I called the pub and, after a while, my call went to voicemail with a message that there was no one to answer my call. I left a voicemail, this was followed by another message to say that there was no one to respond to my voicemail! My party had got back into the car as it was raining and I drove to the front of the pub and sounded my horn for some time then drove to the back of the pub. At this point, a man appeared saying he had a message to come and let us in so, finally, we got in to the pub to access our room. We had an uncomfortable night but managed to get up for the early breakfast (great breakfast! and check-out. We raised all the damp and mould issues with the man who had let us in and, as one of us was asthmatic, told him that we would be leaving a poor review of the room and that they shouldn't book that room out to any one else until the issues were resolved."
