"Booked a table for 2 indoors after being told there were no tables outside. On arrival there were 3 or 4 tables free outside. We ordered food and drinks, and waited over 1 hour for the food but no one had mentioned there was a wait on food, nor was it acknowledged. We asked whilst waiting to move outside to the vacant tables with a view, twice, and on the second time we were successful. Food was nice but overpriced and not exceptional. To add insult to injury, they added a service charge anyway to the bill. Given the abundance of fresh seafood in the area, its a shame everything on the menu was deep fried. Wouldn't go again."

Very ordinary food at extraordinary prices. View is great !!. Probably go elsewhere I think as the point of a restaurant is the food not the view.

Service was friendly but a bit slow with mistakes made. Food was lovely but expensive overall for what it was however the view at dinner was worth it! View menu

The staff at this restaurant are friendly and attentive. However, the food is comparable to what you would find at a popular chain pub, but with prices that reflect the higher cost of dining in Salcombe.

We enjoyed our meals at this restaurant so much that we ended up visiting twice in one week. The menu is creative and the food is simply delicious. The friendly service and beautiful views of the estuary only added to the enjoyable experience. What more could one possibly ask for?

Had a lovely meal with my family over Easter weekend. We had a mix of main courses (steak, fish and chips, prawn pasta) all of which people enjoyed. Nice bottle of wine and some deserts. All restaurants in Salcombe are pricey but if you want to eat in town then this is a nice place! View menu

I just had the most incredible meal in ages! The atmosphere was lovely, the staff was extremely friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. Despite passing by this restaurant countless times, I never thought to try it out until now. I won't be making that mistake again. I can't wait to go back!

This restaurant in Salcombe is a fantastic choice for dinner, offering beautiful views of the estuary just outside of the main town. The food we enjoyed was delicious and artfully presented, with a variety of options for fish, meat, and vegetarian dishes. The staff were welcoming and attentive, and their Irish Coffee was particularly impressive. We will certainly be returning in the future!

"we went here on Saturday evening (party of 4,) as we regularly visit the sister restaurant are the winking prawn, which is beautiful. our waitress was very nice, but eating was literally terrible. we ordered halloumi while we read the menu that it was not possible. raw halloumi swim in extremely strong garlic oil. they took the bill when we didn't touch it. starter: mush were full of grit and minuscule. they were clearly not fresh. prawns were cooked and tasteless. bands were nice crochets were good. netz: 2 krabbensalate (one with a pfeffer allergy that we have told the waitress were not listed on the menu, but we have mentioned it anyway) the person with the pfeffer allergy was served an salat with pfeffer. jrk huh: was good. just a piece of **** with something tear, can't do much wrong. scallops prawns absolutely eat the worst I ever had in devon and almost 20 pfund. the garnels were so over cooked that I could not peel them. also the skalopps were overcooked. the meal was just terrible. we mentioned all this to the manager when we went to pay (about £100 for pleasure to eat this) and his attitude was quite literally “good what they want me to do about it?” I never complain. I never write reviews. but that was the hands down, the worst meal I've ever eaten in a restaurant, and it's a big shame as it could be beautiful."
