"My plans fell through on Saturday night, so we decided to visit Dirty Dicks instead. We haven't been in a while, usually just popping in during the day on weekends, but as always, we were not disappointed. Dirty Dicks is a charming and quirky pub with candles on every table, giving it a nostalgic feel with memorabilia scattered throughout. Nestled away on Rose Street, it feels like a hidden gem in Edinburgh - not pretentious, but full of character. Despite being busy, we were able to snag a cozy table in the corner, perfect for a date night. We ordered some appetizers, which were generously portioned and perfect for sharing. It was a lovely evening, and I highly recommend this authentic Edinburgh pub! X"

Fantastic place, very quirky which I love. Visited on 11/12 for lunch. The staff were amazing and food beautiful! Definitely recommend!

I was torn on a three or four star rating hereConsider this the very definition of 3.5 in this case. Yes, let's get the obvious out of the way.

Really nice pub! You’ll find a nice and warm atmosphere surrounded by good beer and nice food. The whiskey’s collection may require a long stay to explore!

Every time we come to Edinburgh we visit here, it has a really small food menu, but what they do serve is absolutely gorgeous. The pie and chips with the gravy was absolutely delicious and the haggis, tatie and neeps is a must for my mum! Brilliant atmosphere and excellent staff! Always worth a visit!!! View menu

Unfortunately, DDs did not live up to hype. The atmosphere was nice enough fairly standard and the background music was cool (assuming you are a blues fan). However, the food was mixed. My meal was good, but my wife's was not. She had the nachos and the serving was a bit stingy. Still an okay place to go, but I don't see it as sitting above the pack.

What a great spot for casual drinks or a bit of grub. It’s off the beaten track, but totally worth it. The food was epic and the drink selection was spot on! We were lucky to get a table as it was really busy when we arrived, but the people in the pub were also so friendly and we also offered for other customers to perch on the end of our table to save them going elsewhere! We met a couple who were on their travels from America (Fort Lauderdale) and they loved the place too! The decor is eclectic and really interesting to look at too.

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
