"Sunny day in autumn so we decided to try the restaurant of the Hotel Excelsior for lunch. Inside old fashioned but with atmosphere. Wash rooms are definitely to old. Nice big terrace and attractive menu, especially the day special for € 15.50. Two choices; "Aioli" a typical French dish with boiled cod, vegetables and a garlic sauce and very often served on Friday. It looked delicious but we opted for the other possibility Tartar de Boeuf served with salad and fries. Big portions and everything delicious. House wine very good.Pity that in such a good restaurant the (head?)waiter was a man without a smile and uninterested. We already noticed his behavior when we arrived and he had to show us a table and after our main course it took so long to get any attention that we decided to leave without desert or coffee.Enough staff, although not in the beginning when we arrived, but not working together."

What a good place to sit and people watch. I only had a coffee and croissant (both very good and inexpensive) but it was a very pleasant interlude.

Nice location, pretty terrace, pleasant staff, reasonable prices - and excellent food. What more could one want? Have never been disappointed in four visits.

Visited on a regular basis, always very good food and welcoming staff, great views across the bay, also stayed in the hotel over new year, would recommend to anyone.

Had the turbot with bouillabaisse jous. Excellent. Wonderful seaside location. We finished our lunch and moved out to the tables next to the sidewalk to enjoy more rose' and people watching. A lovely afternoon.

It's a great restaurant in the center of Saint Raphaël. Good menu for 29euro proposing fresh seafood. Service was perfect, young and professional girls! Quantity are ok, maybe a bit more. The marmite du pêcheur is amazing.

Reserved well in advance the dinner for 60 was excellent in all respects. Service very good. Food excellent. The chef Philippe Gral is a real professional. This was the second time that I have arranged such 'an dinner for an important sporting week'. We will do it again in 2017.

Dined as a group of six on Sunday evening, we all enjoyed the starters although the melon with Parma ham was far too large a portion. The recommended white wine was not particularly good - too sour. The red was better. The mains were enjoyed by everyone I chose the lamb - very well cooked - simple French cuisine but very good- hubby had a steak and as is usual in France it was rarer than ordered but he enjoyed it. Would certainly revisit but choose our own wine.

Sea front restaurants tend to rely on the view rather than service & food. This was not the case here! Waiting a couple of hours for a train to Nice, we wandered down in search of a good place to eat and were impressed with the menu and the outside tables in the sun. A very attentive waiter ensured we had prompt service and the choice didn't disappoint. The fish soup is a meal in itself and worth the 11€ charged. Seafood spaghetti and a St Jacques Risotto were our main courses. No room for desserts. With pression beers and no wine and just coffee, the bill for two was 93€ which may seem expensive but it's the quality you remember. Excelsior will definitely be revisited. A further point: the...
