"Extremely low quality food. I mean worse than bad. We have just finished a meal in your netley fayre and square restaurant. My family ordered the following. Ultimate sharing platter. Large mixed grill Steak and ale pie with mash Kids double bacon burger Kids sausage and chips I have to say this is one of the worst meals I have ever eaten out, and I go to family orientated pubs often. By no means am I a food snob. My personal meal (pie and mash) was inedible. When I cut inside the top layer of pastry was mushy and the bottom layer was so hard you couldn't cut through it. The meat inside was 50% fat. The mash that came with the meal was warmed to the end of its life so much that the underneath was burnt onto the plate. The only thing edible on my plate were the peas (difficult to get wrong). The ultimate sharing platter consisted of mainly deep fried products, no problem with that. My problem was that it was over cooked that much you couldn't tell what was a chicken strip, prawn or jalapeno thing as they all looked and tasted the same.....burnt and hard! The meat on my partners mixed grill was disgusting. The quality of the meat you are purchasing is quite disturbing. The chicken was clearly very cheap and nasty. The steak (although cooked to order well) was full of gristle and pretty much inedible also. My children are their meals without much complaint as kids do. I however saw how overcooked the burger was and the beans again were so over warmed they were stuck to the plate. My main concern about all this is that I have booked our Christmas dinner with my whole family here. 9 of us who are potentially going to have an extremely bad Christmas day meal. To be honest I am panicking about it now . Overall absolutely disgusted with the entire meal."

It is fair to say that it is a relief this place has closed. The food is precooked, over-microwaved garbage.

Netley Grange closed. It reopened as The Dancing Goose. But that has also now closed. There are plans in place to knock it down and build houses, with a smaller pub to be called Woodies Wine Bar

Visited on a late Sunday afternoon. Food was simply ok. I had the mini mixed grill which whilst hot, it was bland in taste throughout. There was a limited range of lager because some were out of stock. My children enjoyed the whacky warehouse indoor play area and also the outdoor play park area.

We popped in for a lunch after watching the grandson in a nativity play. It was not very busy but we noticed the carpet where we sat was covered in dropped food. The seats were well worn and dirty. The food is reasonably priced although the charge for three diet cokes of £7.05 was high. The gents toilet looked like it had not been cleaned properly, a lot of dust on the inside of the toilet door. The play are had a broken gate.

Went here 1pm today because it was convenient for a beetle drive at Netley Abbey church. We found a notice on the door saying they would cease trading at 5pm and the kitchen would close at 2pm. The menu choice was understandably restricted, no desserts at all, but the chicken tikka masala we had was quite acceptable. The staff were polite and helpful, especially considering they were all about to be redundant! I hope it works out for them.

I have to say after reading some of the previous reviews of this place I almot didn't come and try for myself. But we always pass here on way to Royal Victoria Country Park and always want to try it. It is perfect for a family of 5 like we are, Cheap meals and really child friendly. We arrived a little early so the kids played on the boat climbing area before we ate. We didn't bother with wacky warehouse, but the main part where we ate was still child friendly and welcoming to the children. We took advantage of a great offer, 2 main meals, 2 kids meals and a ice crea dessert for £15. Bargain! We enjoyed out chicken tikka masallas and the ids loved their mains. But were really impressed with...
