"As a fellow attendee of the previously mentioned funeral wake, I felt compelled to write a review for the first time to share my own experience. The wake was held in the Freshwater Inn as it was a firm favourite of the deceased. It was a lovely buffet, of which I saw every attendant eat from. The staff were friendly, serving drinks and continuously helping with the buffet. Although a sad occasion, the staff here made us all feel welcome and comfortable, ensuring that the establishment was only open for those of us who were there for the wake. What a lovely place, I can see why she loved spending time here. I can’t believe that someone would take the time to be disrespectful towards an event that was organised very carefully by the family themselves."

After a few pints we didn’t want a full meal. The staff were very accommodating in letting us have a few ‘sides’. The chips were not anaemic (previous review). The staff were all very polite. Looks like it caters for mostly meals rather than a bar, there isn’t a television but free Wi-Fi (so I was able watch the Wimbledon final). I would re-visit.

Just turned up just as they opened at 6pm. We were given a table but I think they prefer it if you booked first. The food was very good, was the best dinner we had all week while on holiday. I had the fish and chips and my son had the scampi. We had the chocolate brownies with ice cream for afters. There was a few dogs in the restaurant but they were very well behaved.

Won 't come back for a 2nd. Waitress was nice, friendly and professional but wow, the food , was tasteless just like the presentation, despressing bare minimum. Dishing didn 't even come with a side salad. The chips were anaemic fries. The omelette was more than over cooked with a slab of tasteless greasy cheese we couldn 't identify.... A disaster! Worse!!! We all had an upset stomach following this meal View menu

Well, with the onset of winter and the bulk of the holidaymakers long gone, we enjoyed a lovely evening at the Freshwater Inn. The food as always was excellent and the service was equally impressive with Richard and Carole excellent hosts. While others make pretentious claims of being the best in the world, here you can rely on good old fashioned service, quality food and an excellent ambience in one of the finest locations in Pembrokeshire. Highly recommended.

We went here for a friend's wake the staff have no customer service at all ! Was questioned if we were with the funeral party ? How rude considering we were with the husband of the deceased not welcoming in any way. We didn't eat there so can't comment on the food however we were served a flat bitter shandy a flat coke for £5.90 ! we live locally and have often wondered why family friends don't both going there. Lots of other places locally that welcome you to go to .

I absolutely adore this restaurant! The greeting is friendly, the food is deliciously prepared. We tried the grilled fish and it was cooked perfectly - so moist and flavorful. It's a mystery to me how they do it, but it's truly exceptional! Today was extra special as we were the first ones to order and the chef suggested we could have their delicious chips instead of their usual new potatoes. As someone who is gluten intolerant, I feel completely safe dining here as the staff are knowledgeable and understanding of my dietary restrictions. It's always a pleasure to return to this wonderful place. View menu

I truly do not understand the negative reviews. I have never seen so many interesting and creative vegetarian and vegan options on a rural pub menu. Despite not being vegetarian or vegan myself, I was tempted by them. I ultimately chose the rabbit and bacon pie, a signature dish of the chef. It was fantastic: the pastry was exceptional with a generous filling, bursting with flavor. The others in our group opted for vegetarian or vegan options which they thoroughly enjoyed. The service was excellent and cheerful, with beautiful views and delicious Welsh cider. There is nothing to dislike here. It is a coastal gastro pub, not a fancy city restaurant. I highly recommend it.

There are only a few vegetarian options available at this restaurant. I ordered a veggie pie with chips and peas, but found the meal to be very dry. It would have been better with some sort of sauce to make it easier to eat. The portion size was generous, but it seemed like the food might have been frozen. The seating was limited and we were advised to make a reservation because the place was busy. We ended up sitting outside at a small, uncomfortable picnic table. As a 70-year-old, it was difficult for us to get up from the sinking seating. My wife tried the veggie chili and found it to be underwhelming. We decided not to eat here again during our stay in the area, despite the good service....
