This dog-friendly pub has a lovely, cozy atmosphere. I enjoyed the best carvery I've had in a long time, and the school days pudding was absolutely delicious!

Nice atmosphere, carvery could have been better though. Great parsnips and horseradish sauce, roast potatoes and cauliflower missed the mark for me. Gravy was definitely something like bisto. The restaurant is a carvery offering a selection of meats. When I visited at 2 o'clock, some of the meat options had run out. The desserts were made with fresh, non-frozen ingredients. I took advantage of the OAP special, which included soup, a small carvery plate, and apple bread for about £7—an excellent value for money. The service from the staff was also good.
