Just got off motorway was hungry first visit here food was great steak an ale pie , lovely will come back staff very pleasent

It was a great day out for me and my partner, the staff were friendly and very accommodating very nice clean pub and the food was 10/10 the 8oz smothered sizzler was cooked to perfection even when I’m fussy with chips this place smashed it perfectly cooked too.

We spent Christmas Day here with my family for the first time this year (2023) and we had the best time! The food was amazing with generous portions and the staff couldn’t have done more for us! Will definitely come back again and recommend to family and friends. I’d like to add that we often go to the gatehouse and each time the service is exceptional.

6 of us attended today, lovely hot meals and I mean pipping hot, we didn’t have to wait that long for our food either. Delly and Grace was looking after us and they were polite and smiley. I asked who the chef was today and Delly said it was Shan. Brilliant service. I would definitely 100% recommend anyone to attend for food and of course for drinks too. Thank you xx

Decided to go out for lunch the gate house is close I got 20% off with my blue light card. I had a super special Mediterranean seabass because its Thursday I could have a free starter or pudding so chocolate fudge cake ice cream it was. The hubby had a southern fried chicken baguette with cheese green leaf salad. It was delicious we throughly enjoyed it. Staff were really friendly helpful. We are coming back for the epic breakfast next time. We would highly recommend a visit for good pub grub.

Visited for lunch with friends and babies. The bar staff were pleasant and helpful, the food was ok but when I had ordered s Coke without ice and received it with ice I requested it was changed by the staff member that attended out table to ensure everything was ok. The staff members face and body were appalling. She really looked as though she didn't want to be there. This made me feel uncomfortable, and I, plus my friends, witnessed her pulling a face because we had made requests for our orders to be corrected. We come to the Gatehouse before Christmas for our 2 companies Christmas get together and what a wonderful night we had! we was a little late due to work and they gave our table away (completely acceptable we was at fault for still being at work) we said we just sit in bar and just have a few drinks and would eat anywhere we was not fussy as we was at fault but one of the Bar Staff Chelsea who was so friendly lovely went above and beyond to find us a table when one was free. Her Customer Service and bar skills was above and beyond and she’s certainly a asset to your team!
