"The setting of the restaurant is very nice on a square in the old centre of Lucca. That is the good part. However, our food experience was not good. We wanted a Prosecco as aperitive. The sommelier was quick to point out that there was no prosecco on the wine list. We took another sparkling wine as aperitive. EUR 24 for 2 glasses. I became worried when the waitress put a large piece of bread on the table. My starter (mazzancolla) was OK but nothing special. Two shrimps with mayonnaise on a slice of tomato. My main dish was chicken with truffle (pollo al tartufo) costing EUR 48. The chicken was OK but honestly there was no trace of truffle in the dish at all. My wife had a risotto puttanesca. The portion was minimal, max. 5 scoups costing EUR 32. The taste was OK but nothing special. I complained to the waitress about the the quality fo the food. The total bill was EUR 150. For me this is a tourist trap restaurant to be avoided and not worthy to bear the Michelin sign."

It was an amazing experience. We ordered the full degustation menu with wine pairing and we were happy with our choice. The food was delicious and perfectly matched with the offered wines.

Wines were excellent and so was the sommelier service. However the small plates served at the start and between courses were soggy and not fresh. Service was not good except that provided by the trainee. View menu

It's the second time we went to dinner, we were just two years ago. refined restaurant and service is excellent (kind, helpful and very professional firemen). there is no risk of wronging, each course is cured in the appearance and combinations of extraordinary flavors. the price/quality ratio is correct!

Amazing! I have eaten at Michelin star restaurants all over the world and this place is worth visiting. I had the tasting menu with the wine pairing the first night. It was so good that I came back again to try things that were not on the tasting menu. The second visit with the wines recommended by the sommelier was fantastic as well. I would come back to Lucca just to have dinner at Giglio!

altogether I do not feel to give more than four; the 8-course degotation menu is a good menu but it did not surprise me. the kitchen was kind because I asked for variations and they agreed to them. I enjoyed the equipment and service, although the waiters are very young and therefore somewhat inexperienced. the location in general although very charming because historical is a little neglected. the dishes I liked the most are the beef carpaccio, the first especially the spaghetti and the ice cream burned (that was 5 stars). the dessert had a delicious ice cream but for my goto the combination of cold pasta and Parmesan with the dessert was not a success. Unfortunately, for blaspheming of 1 star it takes more. this does not mean that we ate badly but alquni dishes of the degotation are really to be reviewed in the firsts the deer and the spaghetto oil and Parmesan as dessert that makes you dare from the restaurant with the desire to find an open pastry. for such an important figure I expected more at least 2 grissini and 1 piece of focaccia, perhaps to ask for a good butter as in the real stars is also too. good sommelier with the combinations of wines 80 euro 6 glasses however it is out of price since only 1 label you could consider important. I think you can do better in some way you notice that a woman's hand is missing for certain details...

Among the best restaurants in Lucca and surroundings, the Giglio (1 michelin star) allows you to experience a true gastronomic experience, which is born from the ideal and emotional marriage between the Tuscan and Lucca cuisine and the French tradition (from the Aquitaine, to Provence, from Paris to Normandy). The dishes of the tasting menu are really intriguing, as well as the delicious bread with local oil served in accompaniment. Special mention for anime and spaghetti with sea urchins and Compte', Chef's signature dish. Wide and varied the wine card, with the possibility to opt for a full pairing. Careful, professional but pleasantly relaxed service. Prices in line with the category, jus...
