"Früher war das hier mal die Stammkneipe von Jockel Fuchs, dem legendären Mainzer Oberbürgermeister. Für Reingeschmeckte nichts Besonderes - halt eine von vielen auswechselbaren Adressen in der gastronomisch dicht bestückten Landeshauptstadt. Seit kurzem steht die Goldene Ente im alten Ortskern von Mainz-Laubenheim unter neuer Leitung. Der frische Wind hat dem Lokal sichtlich gut getan. Man betritt es über einen lauschigen Innenhof, in dem man wunderbar sitzen kann. Die Speisekarte ist nicht übermäßig groß, aber doch so reichhaltig und vielfältig, dass jeder Gast etwas für seinen Geschmack findet - sei es nun Fisch, Fleisch, Vegetarisches, Kleinigkeiten oder große Portionen.Sympathisch auch, dass auf Sonderwünsche eingegangen wird und dass alles so spürbar frisch zubereitet ist. Bratkartoffeln können fett-triefend oder kross ein, Schnitzen können in Soße ertrinken oder appetitlich angerichtet sein. In beiden Fällen überzeugt die Enten-Küche. Wer einen Kaffee bestellt, bekommt dazu einen (wahrscheinlich selbst gebackenen) Entenkeks.Man sollte sich diese Adresse merken und hoffen, dass sich der reelle, bodenständige Charakter hält. Reservierung ist unbedingt zu empfehlen. Der sympathische Inhaber antwortet auf Mails prompt und zuvorkommend-freundlich."

Gutbürgerliches nettes Restaurant. Bedingungen äußerst freundlich und hilfsbereit. Gute Qualität der Speisen und Säfte. Sitzbereich im Hof gemütlich und nett hergerichtet. Bezahlbares gutes deutsches Essen.

Eindruck nach unserem Besuch mit der Familie: Solides, gutbürgerliches Restaurant mit fairen Preisen in ruhigem, gemütlichen Ambiente. Bedienung war nett und zuvorkommend, und unsere kleinen Sonderwünsche wegen unserem Kleinkind wurden ohne Probleme angenommen. Bedenkenlos und uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen!

In der Goldenen Ente habe ich eine schöne Kartoffelsuppe mit Pfifferlingen verspeist. Danach gab es Schnitzel mit Pfifferlingen und Bratkartoffeln und ein schönes Dessert. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich, schnell und kompetent. Ich habe erstmals auch Bier vom Rheinhessenbräu getrunken - sehr empfehlenswert.

Die servierte halbe Ente war knusperig und saftig. Ein wahrer Genuss. (Man muss sie bei der Reservierung vorbestellen, sie gibt es immer nur im Winterhalbjahr.) Dazu gab es einen Kloß sowie reichlich gut gewürzten Rotkohl. Auf die als Vorspeise angebotene Suppe habe ich verzichtet. Der kleine Gastraum strahlt eher dörfliches Flair aus.

Wir waren nach einer Reservierung freitags abends dort und haben Schnitzel gegessen. Die Portion war sehr groß, das Fleisch gute Qualität und sehr wohlschmeckend. Der Service war aufmerksam und freundlich und um das Wohl des Kunden benüht. Die Karte bot viele Spargelgerichte zu annehmbaren Preisen an. Außer dem Schankraum gibt es noch einen weiteren Raum. Wir werden dort wieder hingehen.

Die Räumlichkeiten sind mit Liebe renoviert ohne den alten Charme zu gefährden. Die Bedienung und die Inhaber sind sehr freundlich und Sonderwünsche sind kein Problem. Wir gehen jedes Jahr zum Ente essen und die Qualität ist konstant gut und erinnert an Hausmannskost. Bei diesem Besuch gab es Jäger-Schnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln und auch hier waren die Zutaten frisch und geschmacklich einfach top.

In der Ente gibt es Ente vom Grill, wie der Name schon sagt, in der Saison so Oktober bis Januar etwa. Die Ente stammt aus Großbrittannien aus guter Haltung und schmeckt vorzüglich. Eine Voranmeldung zum Entenessen ist erforderlich. Außerdem gibt es Fleisch (Schnitzel) vom Bauernhof Acker in Bodenheim von Schweinen, die noch auf Stroh leben dürfen und keinen Transport zum Schlachten haben. Dies finde ich persönlich sehr empfehlenswert.

Wir waren seit dem Besitzerwechsel zum ersten Mal wieder da und sehr zufrieden. Der Service durch die Inhaber ist äußerst freundlich und zuvorkommend - hier fühlt man sich als Gast willkommen. Schön gestalteter überdachter Innenhof, ideal für die Sommerzeit. Innen nur wenig Plätze - hier empfiehlt sich im Winter also dringend eine Reservierung. Die Speisekarte ist überschaubar, es existieren jedoch auch saisonale Empfehlungen. Das Essen ist sehr schmackhaft, schön angerichtet und die Portionen sind groß bei einem guten Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Wir werden sehr gerne wieder kommen. Die Öffnungszeiten sind Montags bis Freitags ab 17.00 h und Sonntags bereits ab 11.00 h. Ruhetag ist etwas unüb...

"we thought it was time that four years ago opened patagonia in the mainzer neustadt to test. the bus and tram connection is excellent, the parking situation is very difficult. there is an outside area at the restaurant, and the dining room is large and clear. because the guests were distributed outside and inside, the reservation about opentable would not have been necessary. so we were allowed to choose a table and were welcomed by the two ladies in the service friendly. we found a rectangle with a view of a large flatscreen, on which a diashow of pictures ran from patagonia, which first triggered television. steaks are offered in all variations, and the selection is quite difficult. we first took three empanadas with different fillings that relatiw quickly came out of the kitchen and taste very good.My wife decided in the main course for a rumpsteak of the even medium rare with grill potatoes and salad. I had previously researched the card in the internet and asked myself what a flap steak was. wikipedia helped and so I knew it was a cut that is very common in patagonia and comes very close to the us sirloin strip. I wanted to try this and ordered it **** in the bloom. I took a foil potato. both supplements were handed with the obligatory sourcream with coriander. the two supplemental salads were fresh, colourful and crisp, with the carrots also liked as a supplement. Even with critical consideration, the performance was in all respects of expectations: the services were extremely friendly and stood also in the meat selection with rat and did the side. the we chose to be perfectly met. confusingly I found the hints in the menu on the recommended per steak. these were all together and especially between medium and well done. that was not comprehensible for me because of the top quality of meat, all in all a very successful evening with a quite reasonable price-performance ratio. we like to come back to patagonia."

"Pizzeria Popeye Why do you call a pizzeria after a whirlpool? I find no indication, especially the operators are real Italians. Was Popeye Italian? I don't think so. At least there are some dishes with spinach on the map. But from the front... This small pizzeria lives mainly from delivery and collection. No one is lost in this corner of Bretzenheim. Neither a sign shows here, nor can you see it remotely, simply hidden in the middle of the residential and office blocks. I noticed when I bought rolls nearby. My lady was sworn twice with friends and from the fresh pasta. Then it can't be that wrong. The ambience is, how should I describe it? Let me know. A glass box, right next to a KFZ workshop, within the “kitchen” and a counter on the drinks are prepared. A few more tables. I haven't seen any toilets, but I think I'm around the corner in the same building. Then there are outside seats. Every campsite is more cozy. There is a pot with herbs and less edible greenware, but it was also with color and a feeling of joy...
