"Myself and another visited on a quiet Tuesday evening so the place wasn't packed (ideal for a relaxed pint for us). We didn't eat so I've left no marks for food. My companion was driving and it was great to see not only the good choice of 0% bottled beers and ciders (Moretti zero, Erdinger Blue and Old Mout) but also they have Heineken 0.0% on draft which is very rare. This pours and tastes much better, smoother with the fewer bubbles. I sampled 2 tasty golden ales which were well kept. There was Black Sheep bitter on offer as well. A very nice cosy sitting area near the old fireplace. I'm tempted to eat here next time, we did so many years ago before covid. Bur we will definitely visit more often for drinks now we can come with a Des driver knowing its not going to be the same boring zero beer all night."

Been going here on and off over the last 45+ years. Good selection of real ale and wine. Not the cheapest but not too bad prices. Really friendly staff and although a limited bar area it's comfortable and nicely presented. Price per person: £1–10 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The menu selection seemed promising, with online advertising promoting the food as unique. However, in actuality, the food fell short of expectations. The dishes were average, edible but not particularly impressive. The high prices did not reflect the quality of the food, making it hard to recommend.

The staff were absolutely lovely, friendly and welcoming. The pub also has a really nice atmosphere. The Sunday roast was tasty but unfortunately, for just under £15 each, the portion sizes were very small. All four of us came away feeling hungry and ended up eating snacks afterwards. It's such a shame as we would have returned time and time again otherwise. But you can't fault the staff and atmosphere, they are great. Food: 2

Met some friends for Sunday dinner. Pub seemed lovely and so was really looking forward to it. Ended up being really disappointed. Our order was taken then 2 other waitresses asked for our order. I had the duo and chose beef and chicken. The chicken was a thigh which I wouldn’t have picked if I had known. The beef was so fatty and chewy I left 3/4 of it. There was barely any veg or mash and the veg was over cooked. The parsnips were shrivelled to nothing. We got cauliflower cheese even though we didn’t order so had to ask for it to be removed from the bill. The only nice bit was the Yorkshire pudding. Such a shame as they really could do well here. Also it was £16.50 which is so expensive an...
