Halfway House Pub - Menu

We stopped here for a couple of drinks mid way on our walk today. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Food smelled amazing, we will definitely be returning to sample the delights of the kitchen.

We visit this place time and time again and always leave happy. Great pub for drinks and chat, great beer garden and the kids always have such fun plus the food is amazing. Well done to management and staff

I do enjoy a steak and I've had steaks all over the place but tonight I had the Steak Tornados at the Halfway House and it must have been one of the best ever! No need for a steak knife, the knife went through the steak as if it was butter. My wife had Chicken Sorrento, perfectly cooked in every way. View menu

We went with a friend for lunch today. The welcome was warm and inviting. The restaurant was small but quiet without loud music which was perfect. The service was prompt and professional. The food was of excellent quality and plentiful. I fully recommend this place and I will definitely be going back. First class.

Visited today as 2 couples and had delicious food in a carefully planned COVID safe environment. Even better was that we cashed in big time on the scratch card offer that covered half of our bill!Will definitely be making future visits as there are plenty more dishes for us to sample.Thanks to all at HH for doing a great job and delivering brilliant food and service.

Just had a take away three course dinner for two from The Halfway House, it was excellent, we had starters of garlic mushrooms and creamy vegetable soup, we both had slow roast pork belly as mains and apple crumble and chocolate cheesecake as desserts, all of it was piping hot and delicious, would certainly recommend The Halfway House to anyone, we have been for meals before the pandemic and the food is certainly up to the usual excellent standard. We recently enjoyed afternoon tea at this restaurant and it was by far the best we've ever had. The quality of the food items was excellent and they were served in a practical cardboard box with sealed packs of plastic cutlery. In addition to a variety of sandwiches, we also enjoyed a scotch egg, sausage roll, and ciabatta, offering a great mix of savory and sweet options. They also provided vegetarian and vegan choices, making for a diverse selection overall. The service was fantastic and it was clear that they prioritized Covid safety measures. Overall, we couldn't be more pleased with our experience. Thank you!

We held our wedding day at the half way house 29 to June 2019 .From the start to the finish ashleigh was brilliant with the helping organised our day nothing was too much trouble .The grounds of the marquee are superb very spacious and with having the beer garden and play area for the children was wonderful as the kids were happy too .we had a rodeo bull and a photo photo booth outside there was plenty off room .a lot of my guests comments were excellent venue and food was lovely and Ashleigh catered for everyone with a special diet requirement .the marquee was lovely as we could put our own touches to it and to be honest We was over whelmed when arrived to see the finished marquee and the b...

Upon arriving at the restaurant, we noticed the lovely play area in the garden and told the children that they could play there after we had eaten. However, after spending a significant amount of money at the restaurant, we were shocked to see staff drilling a piece of wood over the play area gate. The children were upset, and one of the employees mentioned something about Boris, which was very bizarre. Many families, including us, decided to leave as a result. We later discovered that The Catchems in Swadlincote had a wonderful play area where children could play for hours without any issues.
