"After 5 months of being closed due to the Covid-19 virus and roadworks outside the pub has reopened, on reduced hours to begin with. The pub have taken the safety of its customers and staff very seriously, and has social distancing in place throughout the pub, there were ample sanitiser stations, and a 1 in 1 out system for the toilets. The pub isn’t able to offer food at the present time, but has lots of crisps, chocolate and ice creams if you’re peckish. The restaurant will reopen as soon as it is able to. The garden is huge and offers lots of seating, most of it under gazebos in case of rain. The garden is tastefully decorated with fairy lights and candles, the pub also provides blankets which are sanitised between customers, so you can sit and watch the sunset over the open fields from the comfort of the patio. The pub deserves its Cask Marque award as the local Hooky beer and cider tastes as good as it gets. Service was impeccable as usual from the family run business. A little gem of a pub in the beautiful English Countryside!"

Have visited this pub a couple of times this year with friends while on a bus tour, and have always been made to feel welcome. Fantastic hospitality from Chris, and great beer as well View menu

Excellent Sunday lunch at the Hare and Hounds today. Super warm and friendly atmosphere, nothing was too much trouble. Excellent roast with homemade horseradish and real roast potatoes with homemade Yorkshire puddings. Highly recommended.

When all pubs and now open this one remains strangely quiet. They have put promises out to reopen, so far nothing!! Come on guys you’re losing customers and your reputation!! Obviously you don’t care about the village and location you serve! Give it up and let someone else do a better job! View menu

Bas, Ton and the team were fantastic to us during our stay in Wardington over Christmas 2019. Complimentary nibbles teamed with friendly service and great drinks meant we felt very welcome and got to know them in a short space of time. These guys are fairly new on the block so all the support is needed. Great job so far, highly recommended.

This was a visit for lunch but sadly they were not cooking. Even so, a very friendly welcome and internally the hare and hounds is a lovely cozy pub with a huge fire place and beams. There is a seperate restaurant area. We ended up having some drinks one of which the landlord gave us for free due to a mix up on the lemonade. Dog friendly and a large garden with a small seating area and car park. Visited 12th May 2022.

"I don't know what on earth happened last night when we had dinner here, the reviews looked good, and we're struggling to understand how. We're very easily pleased and takes a lot to prompt a complaint, but we had an absolutely awful experience. My partner ordered the belly pork off the specials board, and it turned up on a side plate, a very few overcooked bits of diced pork thrown in with a few veg. I had the cauliflower with braised lentils, this turned out to be a few mainly burnt cauliflower florets thrown into a plate of sludgy lentils. The chunky chips we ordered came out as skinny fries, not a big deal but just added to the general lack of care. We were both mortified, to the point of embarrassment. We ate it as we were hungry and there was nowhere else to go as we were staying at a local campsite. One of the team took the plates away, and another brought the bill. Neither of them asked us how the meal was, else we'd have said how disappointed we were. So we just left, just as the table next to ours was commenting on the small portion sizes of their food. We should have complained but we were hungry, disappointed, tired and just wanted to leave and simply couldn't face the confrontation in the busy setting. No excuses but that's how it was. We are very relaxed easy going people but this was a truly disappointing meal and experience and we felt robbed of £45 instead of enjoying what we'd hoped would be a lovely Saturday night out and special occasion."
