"Knowing that my family and I would be in Abergavenny around lunchtime prior to a walk up Sugar Loaf, I took the rare step of being prepared by looking up a tea shop that served cream teas with clotted cream (any civilised person would of course faint into their jam at the sight of whipped! and didn't close at 2pm (as if everyone's appetite sticks to a schedule . Meeting those requirements alone would have been enough to get a good review, but I was genuinely delighted by The Little Treat. From the moment we walked in, our every need was met. We thought we'd have trouble finding a table as the only one remaining was for 2 people (there were 4 of us , but the lovely gentleman behind the counter asked if we'd like that table and then immediately brought 2 extra chairs over and ensured that we were comfortably sat with menus ordering was prompt and correct. His colleague delivered our food and, when it became clear that there would be a slight delay in my daughter's order, brought over complimentary drinks. The food was excellent neither pretentious nor poor quality. Both our hosts were unfailingly polite, but sincerely so, and genuinely warm. The service alone was worthy of note if all catering establishments were like this then the world would be a happier place but the food left us all satisfied as well. I really look forward to next time we're in Abergavenny so we can visit again."

"Having lived in Turkey for many years it is wonderful to have found somewhere that serves real Turkish food close to home. The staff are all welcoming, caring and wonderful with the children. We have visited for Birthdays and again staff have made the event special. Don't hesitate to treat yourself and pay a visit, you won't be disappointed. Kid-friendliness: Always make a fuss of the children, make sure that they have everything that they need. On a recent visit one child didn't order as they were not hungry then changed their mind, food was prepared quickly for them even though the restaurant was busy."

"Dining at this restaurant offers a unique experience with distinct aromas that set it apart from other Italian establishments we've visited. On our two recent visits, we found it necessary to make a reservation in advance. The restaurant features dining areas on both the ground floor and the first floor, with ramp access available to the ground level. The red wine is full-bodied and reasonably priced. All the dishes come in generous portions; I particularly enjoyed the slow-cooked beef with roasted potatoes, which I highly recommend as a standout dish. The bratkartoffels have a unique twist with Italian crumbles, making them unlike any we've tried before. Every dish we sampled was fantastic. The lemon cheesecake is light, fresh, and wonderfully creamy, with a large portion to enjoy. We wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant."

"We visited here for lunch as we are in the area. As a chef and restaurant manager, we usually find the good in most dining situations and are pleased to be enjoying food somewhere else, however my experience was less than favourable from the moment...we arrived, an older lady grunted at us as we arrived the bar and wondered off, another lovely lady came to take our order for drinks but we hadn’t even been given menus, I got the distinct impression that the older lady had instantly dismissed us for not being regulars. I must stress here that all the other staff were lovely. We were promptly seated after ordering and given plenty of time to enjoy. The food we felt was distinctly average. We asked for the bill and after waiting half an hour for the bill, we got fed up and went to the bar only for the lady to bark at us that she had been trying to “track us down” we hadn’t moved from the table all lunch. If I or any of my staff ever treated a customer like this, I would have a serious word."

"the hardwick is one of the most famous and famous restaurants waless. they have probably already heard that the blowing over their celebrated chef and ethos of generous, un-poncy, fleshy, comfort eating before. if yes, only on the pictures of the nosh. rural hardwick is located in the gastronomic environment of abergavenny, you could call different “restaurant with rooms” or “gastro-pub”, depending on which cliché kills their imagination. Chef-Patron stephen terry has a serious life skating behind him. he trained under legendary chefs marco pierre white michel roux jr; he was awarded with his first Michelin star in the age of 25 years; he was mentor some of the best Great Britains including jason atherton and hywell jones; and he got the status of the household name when he cooked the fishing course on the British menu in 2008. we visited the hardwick during the first flut of December, when I only opened my first package of stylton and as the thought of pyramids of ferrero rocher w"
