"the lunch for us turned out to press a little table. a call to the restaurant by another parade who reduced party size was accepted as our table. Despite our assurances, we had not made such a call, a big...without table was not available, although there was an empty table next to us for the whole meal. no apology was offered. our bill came to a head that, given the squeeze and very limited selection of vegetarian options, did not seem great worth for money. that said eating was delicious and the waiting service was excellent."

This was our splurge meal It was also one of the best meals I had while in Wales _The food here is more about quality and less about quantity.

I love everything about this restaurantThe food is amazing and doesn't cost the earth, but the price does limit the amount of times I eat here.

Amazing food, excellent wines and professional service. The Cornish Fish Bourride was sumptuous, the Mallard was beautifully cooked with the most succulent carrots and the creme brûlée exquisite. View menu

The food here was absolutely stunning. Outstanding quality and the home baked breads and appetiser was a lovely touch. For me the restaurant lacked atmosphere. If I was to return I would definitely ask to sit in the bar by the open fire as I...found the restaurant quite cold so take an extra layer.

We have been to the Walnut Tree many times, but this time we were slightly disappointed. The food as usual was delicious, but the dinning room was very cold and uninviting, the lights was only switched on when we were on our dessert course when...a larger party arrived. It would have been nice if they had an option of alcohol free wine to enjoy with the meal. View menu

Such a fantastic evening for my husband's birthday...he has always wanted to eat here and it did not disappoint. Very friendly, hospitable staff...nothing was too much trouble. My daughter has dietary requirements and this was catered for perfectly. Food was fantastic, everything we hoped for...and more. It is definitely the place for that extra special venue for celebrating an important occasion.

how refreshing to find somewhere that lives up to the hype. I took my man here to surprise and when it was worth the mile trip. we have both set ourselves from the menu that I think is a good option on. a first visit. we will definitely try the a la carte menu again. I was concerned portioning could be tiny and my man could still starve, but we could easily split a pudding and still satisfied. service was good, nice selection of wein at the glass everything in a beautiful experience.

"Knowing that my family and I would be in Abergavenny around lunchtime prior to a walk up Sugar Loaf, I took the rare step of being prepared by looking up a tea shop that served cream teas with clotted cream (any civilised person would of course faint into their jam at the sight of whipped! and didn't close at 2pm (as if everyone's appetite sticks to a schedule . Meeting those requirements alone would have been enough to get a good review, but I was genuinely delighted by The Little Treat. From the moment we walked in, our every need was met. We thought we'd have trouble finding a table as the only one remaining was for 2 people (there were 4 of us , but the lovely gentleman behind the counter asked if we'd like that table and then immediately brought 2 extra chairs over and ensured that we were comfortably sat with menus ordering was prompt and correct. His colleague delivered our food and, when it became clear that there would be a slight delay in my daughter's order, brought over complimentary drinks. The food was excellent neither pretentious nor poor quality. Both our hosts were unfailingly polite, but sincerely so, and genuinely warm. The service alone was worthy of note if all catering establishments were like this then the world would be a happier place but the food left us all satisfied as well. I really look forward to next time we're in Abergavenny so we can visit again."
