"A friend arranged a great figure of eight walk around the countryside which had this pub in the middle so we could have a lunch break. WOW what a welcoming venue for a group of wet muddy walkers with a suitably muddy Spaniel. It was...warm enough to eat outside under gazebos so the offer of boot covers was not needed. Service was very efficient and quick for all of us and again the serving staff were very welcoming and friendly. They took time and effort to make sure the muddy Spaniel was as happy as the rest of us too. I had the Gammon, egg, pineapple but would have been equally pleased to have chosen the other dishes that my friends chose. A great lunch in-between a super walk."

Slightly expensive but big portions and a large out door garden, with a children’s play area. Also a very friendly dog

I arrived early and was impressed by the outstanding food and service at this charming pub. The prices were reasonable and I will definitely be returning in the future.

Called in for lunch, and were shown a table promptly. We had ploughman’s and warm goats cheese and pepper salad. Both very nice, good sized portions served promptly with a smile! £26 including drinks for the two of us was good value

I had a nice birthday dinner in this beautiful pub with family last Saturday (7th mai) because of the lockout I had not been back for a few years, but the food service has really maintained its high standards. it has a nice atmosphere. I can't recommend it very much.

Had lunch here today and it was outstanding. Met the lovely pub dog, didn’t feed him. Can’t believe someone would complain about being asked not to. The food here is delicious and they serve a very crisp Sauvignon Blanc. Welcoming friendly staff and a charming...landlady. Superb!

Stopped off at this pub today in the middle of a nice country walk. We were given a lovely welcome by the staff. Menus were quickly provided. Food was served promptly and was piping hot. We both had fish and chips and it was delicious....Had our dog with us who was also given a warm welcome.

not a single vegan dish on the menu if you ask the bar staff whether there were any vegan options said that they could do a pizza without cheese or goat cheese salad without goat cheese, but the pizza dough could. to butter in him! like a bad timewarp in the 1980s. the pub building and garden area is functional, but unattractive and right next to a loud, busy road. never again.

"December 2021: Glad to be able to visit The Old Orchard at Christmas. They always have a real fire going and mulled wine. Unfortunately, they hadn't started the mulled cider yet but, had a hot toddy; both were wonderful. Well done guy's for offering these. The food , for starters we shared prawn salad, very refreshing. My partner had the chicken and leek pie which was yummy. I had the salmon, which was disappointing, dry and bland, the veggie accomplishment were tasty. January 2020: I really like this place and come here regularly. Looking forward to coming in summer. Having been here many times over the last 4 months, I have to say the menu is limited and boring. Very surprised they haven't thought of changing it or varying it a bit. Also wish they had a few more cosy tables and chairs. Apart from the 1st time we came always get put on a small table for 2 despite asking for a square 4 table and plenty being available. The service could be better, waiters don't write the order down and then forget to bring you drinks. Despite the above I still like this place but, it's these things that is the difference between nice and amazing. December 2019: Came here on Christmas Eve and had a lovely evening. September 2019:Went to The Old Orchard for drinks and dinner on a Friday night. I hadn't booked a table so we had to wait an hour and a half. Which was fine as it was a nice evening we sat outside then had to move in due to it getting a bit chilly. Would have been nice if they had patio heaters, I would have liked to sit outside. Blankets would also be a nice touch. The views are amazing. Food was very good, facilities were clean and the staff were friendly and provided a great service. I will definitely be coming back."
