"We stayed here as a through hiker. A third party made our reservations and we stayed in the dorm. I had two issues with the place, the first is the dorm and the hotel lacks the amenities one expects in 2024. The dorm, which sleep 8-10 had one outlet. The hotel, in general, lacked any amenities to charge devices but for one giant system in one space that everyone could plug into. The second issue is with their breakfast and dinner service. Everything starts at one time which makes for a giant line and inefficient service. The staff were very helpful. The quality of food was good and they let you have seconds of anything they served. Breakfast is typical European, meaning it was lame. But I’m not scoring the place down on the food. The staff just seemed to be in a hurray during the service, probably because everyone sits down at the same time and it all has to be rushed through. In the end, if I had to book a place in Trient, I would try a different place before coming back. They all may be the same, I don’t know."

I stayed here while doing the TMB, and I cannot recommend the hotel more. The food was delicious and the staff were willing to give us more when we asked for it. The beds were comfortable, and the room was big enough. More importantly than that though, when I badly twisted my ankle and thought my TMB could be over, the staff were extremely helpful: gave me a lot of good advice and provided me with ice packs for me knees. The shared accommodations were very rough. The rooms were not cleaned well. We found bed bugs eggs in the bunk beds. We rate this stay high because we asked if they had any other accommodations we could take and they offered us a private yurt, which was actually a VERY nice place (for an additional charge). So while our first impression was poor, we eneded up having a great stay. No shower tokens which is nice. Food and service was great.

My family stayed here while hiking portions of the TMB. Highly recommend! The food was good and plentiful, the atmosphere was lots of fun and very friendly. The staff were fantastic and energetic and welcoming.Rooms were clean. The location is beautiful. Most importantly I forgot my wallet in the dorm, and everything was returned to me with a kind note and everything was still there : Great, honest people run Hotel du Col de la Forclaz. My experience there was wonderful and memorable. Thanks for the stay and for the lovely time!

We stopped at the restaurant of Hotel du Col de la Forclaz just for a drink, after an exhausting hike. As there was nobody outside, we entered to kindly ask how we can order. We were instructed harshly to sit outside and wait, not to enter inside. A rude waiter came to our table and judgmentally gave us a lesson that included (quote): In Western Europe waiter comes to your table, that 's what we do . We were speechless (well, we live in Basel Stadt, pretty Western as well). Of note, we waited more than 30 minutes to get our second order, nobody ever came. We had to change the table to be in a zone of a different waitress to be actually served. Service: 1 View menu

We recently stayed here during our TMB hike. The food at this place was probably my favourite in all the TMB refuges we stayed at! For dinner we had a wholesome squash and carrot soup, bread, roasted chicken with ratatouille and fries, and a creamy ice cream for dessert. Everything tasted amazing, and if not for the many flies in the dining room, I would have thought we were in a restaurant! They also offered seconds, which we hungry hikers greatly appreciated! For breakfast they had an amazing butter croissant, bread and jam, yogurt and granola. Sadly we were not able to try their picnic, as we asked for it too late (you must ask before 6pm to reserve a picnic). We got a private room. It wa...

Perfectly acceptable place to stay as long as your expectations not high. Adequate food, accommodation. Poor service. Not friendly. The woman at checkin was not trying to be friendly and looked fed up. The food service was very inefficient. It is very difficult to serve so many people in peak season but other TMB locations have worked out much better systems. I asked for a drink and was rudely told to go to my table and wait. 30 minutes later I saw the same waitress chatting and not bothering to serve anyone. The hotel is on the road so easy to get supplies but still served only basic food. On the positive side the room was comfortable and quiet. Warm shower was fine. Very few chargers. They...
