"I spent many years of my life in overseas and sometimes tried to find decent Indian food in Britain, but I found it here. the staff is always friendly and ready to arrange advice that served dishes are always excellent. we visit this restaurant regularly and always enjoy our evening. great eating, courtesy and friendly staff. if they are in beccles, this restaurant is a must. negative assessments may seriously affect a business. every time a negative assessment appears on Google search, there is the potential to lose customers. 86% of customers hesitate to buy from companies with negative reviews. negative assessments ultimately have a cost for the business. Before posting a negative review, they do the decent thing and speak directly to the business staff. make it right wise."

It’s over 4 years I order from India Gate and it’s always great! I always get my food delivered or I collect I’ve actually never sat down but I always see the place very busy. The vegetarian food is amazing, the food always arrive piping hot and I can pay by card at the delivery I love it. My favorite take away in beccles!

We had a takeaway, half a portion in each tub, rice missing from two meals, hair found in food. Warm food. We collected it. Although customer service was very good. When given the issues for the missing rice they were very apologetic. When found hair on the dinner they said that they have no one with white hair said they would send another one out and then hung up with out any apology

Booked a table for when they opened, after speaking to someone on the phone literally 30 minutes before, arrived and it wasn't open at stated time as well as stated booking waited 15 minutes before going back still closed even knocked on the door! All lights off! May give them a second chance if they respond to my girlfriend Kelly who booked it! Terrible business considering we spoke to someone with booking literally 30 mins beforehand! Wasted journey, very unprofessional

Ordered takeaway. Phoned up previously, staff said it would be about 45 mins. Arrived 45 mins, to a large queue of others also waiting for their food. I paid for this and continued to wait for another 45 mins. I did ask how long I would have to wait, but they didn’t get back to me. I imagine people queuing and standing around isn’t a nice experience for people sitting in the restaurant. Clearly had way over the capacity that staff could manage. When finally getting our food, food was bland. My Tikka Massala sauce was tomato sauce? Our Pilau rice, was plain boiled rice. I live in Norwich and am used to better quality of Indian cuisine. The quality is unfortunately, very poor. I assume they ar...

"Having been a regular customer for over a decade to The Bell Inn, I was left very underwhelmed this time. Room was lovely and clean as usual, Tom on reception was fab. We chose to dine in the restaurant as normal and booked for 730pm so we had a nice long evening to enjoy eating and drinking. The menu is now very limited compared to previous years, we chose to have 4 starters to share and some rose wine with bread to start. Slight delay on bread, which came crammed on a small plate, which we had to ask for side plates after waiting for the waitress to reappear…the oil and balsamic was awful, there was so much oil chucked in the ramekin we had to ask for another, to pour some off to try and get to the vinegar. Food came out, and was put on table, again had to ask for side plates as we were sharing and still had bread on the other ones. No drinks check. Had to wait at bar to order more. Food was mediocre at best, we both have very good appetites especially after the harbour walk and some wine! but both ended up just picking at it. Ended up going to room with our wine very early, the only other table in the restaurant that was occupied had some sort of problem ordering due to “fryers being turned off” and got sandwiches and chips instead! Slept well as usual. Went for a quick dog walk before breakfast and narrowly avoided being hit by the chef arriving at 845am in the car park. Arrived on time for breakfast at 9am, lovely, lovely waitress served us, ordered full English and pot of tea, partner the same with coffee. Took a sip of the tea and it was barely lukewarm… spoke to waitress who was very apologetic and bought me a fresh one, turns out the rest of the room all had the same problem with tea and coffee as the urn hadn’t been turned on in time see chef comment food came out and was delicious and hot, and top quality as usual, we cleared our plates! Room was spotlessly clean, and the Tyneham hand wash/cream is so good! Overall disappointing as I know how good this place can be, and the first time I’ve ever encountered any problems. As stated before it was not busy in the slightest compared to previous years, so no excuse really. I will return as The Bell holds dear memories for me, I hope next year it will have ironed out these problems and be back to full glory!"
