"I would like to express my gratitude to Leanne and her husband for assisting us in organizing a small gathering for my mother's 80th birthday. They were both extremely helpful and accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. I would also like to thank Michelle and the young barmaid who served us during the evening. The buffet provided was fresh and bountiful. It was refreshing to have a younger staff at the Bowls Club, as they bring new energy and enthusiasm to the establishment. In contrast, older staff members can sometimes be resistant to change and less motivated to attract new customers. One minor issue was the cost of £5 per table for white tablecloths, which seemed steep. While I understand the need to cover laundry expenses, this fee felt excessive."

We were a big group and all received our food at the same time. Everyone's meals were delicious, the staff was very pleasant, and we had a great time. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Nice food. Good quality, but the price went up, and portions are now really small. Using smaller plates. Lamb chewy. Gammon is really nice. Need to revert to original dinners to keep customers, or they will go elsewhere.

Today our family enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch to celebrate our Mum's 85th Birthday. Food was of a very high standard. Service good delivered in a warm friendly manner. Two of our party are wheelchair users. Accessibility very good. Staff very accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely return.

I got married there last year.My wedding was a low budget wedding but the Islwyn bowls club was excellent value for money. The venue was free and you paid per person for foof. Food was fantastic and the staff were fab especially to two ladies there.I would recommend this place to anyone for a wedding reception or any other party . View menu

I went to the restaurant for my mum's 82nd birthday lunch. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were very pleasant. We ordered the Sunday dinner, but the portions were quite small - there was hardly any vegetables and the plates were not very generous. We also didn't receive the cauliflower cheese we ordered, and there was no sauce provided for the meat. Overall, it was a bit disappointing, but with a few improvements, it could be a very nice dining experience.

Good reviews prompted us to book Sunday lunch for 4 adults and 2 young ones. The restaurant is clean, bright and not cramped. We had a table where we could sit around in comfort without the buggy and high chairs being a problem for us or others. Soup starter was lovely, the prawn cocktail not special. Good traditional Sunday lunch with the meat served on the plate and vegetables in dishes quantity ample. Three of us had pork and two had beef the pork was very good (apart from rubbery crackling) and the beef was excellent. Desserts were not great. We will return because it's a really friendly place and very good value compared with many around.
