"We have been to Japan many times and this was our first visit to Kicho. (Almost) everything worked for us here. Food/ambience/service: everything is absolutely authentically Japanese, reduced to the essentials and as far away as possible from the hip Thai/Wok/Sushi/Fusion restaurants, where the main focus is often on Instagram-friendly presentation and a lack of quality under dry ice. Steam and the sushi is buried under thick sauces. The only point of criticism: the daily dessert on the menu was frozen, which was a bit of a shame considering the rest of the quality."

Had a lovely evening in Stuttgart. Unfortunately we decided to eat at Kicho. After a very unfriendly reception we had to sit on the floor. First of all, the fishy smell isn't all that unusual. However, that same night in the toilet I noticed that the fish wasn't that fresh after all.

At the beginning I thought the service team wasn't paying any attention to us. When we were noticed it turned out to be a really great evening. Great recommendation from the service team. Absolutely excellent Japanese cuisine. A highlight was the fish and the ice cream made from matcha tea. Simple but particularly delicious. We would be happy to repeat the evening again.
