"we decided to try it out, because it looked very nice and we went past it a few times. It's pretty expensive, but we thought why not. the sitting places are pretty bad if they don't get a real chair. they have sofas in which you sink directly - I'm pretty big, so it's terrible for someone who's small, and I had to sit kind of obliquely. we had both burgers - mine the sweet and my friends the Jolie-Burger. both were a really strange texture - soft and mushy. mine had a very strange taste - as much as meat. the pommes were very average. only standard steak chips, but not well prepared at all. the wine was very good and the service was very good. very friendly and offered us English menus, although we did not need them. it was in order, but the money definitiw was not worth it. 16,50 euro for a veggie burger in a city with 50 million really great burger restaurants it really takes on the point I would say that I have eaten better in other much cheaper restaurants."

two panted steaks with potato-grain salad, two beer and a cola, 3 desserts = 90 euro! if we also say that they are very slow ... we need to look elsewhere!

the restaurant was recommended by hotel. when we arrived there, we remembered having been there many years ago - and we were as enthusiastic as at the first time. perfect service

the facility is a little skurril and the restaurant looks nothing from outside. but eating is really good. the appetizers with goat cheese are very tasty and their homemade ice cream is incredible. the service is good and attentive. View menu

this is a smaller informal restaurant. we visited 3 people and all had good dishes, well prepared and presented. the bar was not fully equipped and there was only one beer of the barrel on this evening, so the white bear was from a bottle (always still good).

near the reeperbahn. totally beautiful restaurant, with romantic flair. the two female bosses (service and kitchen) are very striving for each individual guest. professional competence comes over when looking for wein and composition of the feed. here we stayed for hours and eaten very tasty and drank.

when we were there, we were served by musto, a very talented, friendly service staff. always interested in our needs. but the carving was a bit burned and the cook went before his time and therefore we could not get our dessert. but I will definitely give a second and perhaps third chance. . . . a new visit worth. "so it is not better." we thought and read ourselves happily and fully lower in the comfortable sessel. the jolie simply offers everything: from great, friendly service, the beautiful ambiente and the good location to the incredibly delicious food. it is not self-evident that the employees contribute to making your birthday even better, but this was effortless in the jolie. the open-minded and warm atmosphere that prevails there makes every eating even better. highly recommended!

small restaurant in the colorful city part st. pauli, which offers a varied and always delicious German cuisine. small terrace in summer (on the street) for smoker. I've been going to this restaurant several times. the chef is very nice and speaks perfectly English. the service follows well, not too much waiting. despite the fact that they are only a stone's throw away from the reeperbahn, it is quite quiet. Please note that it is advisable to book on Friday and Saturday evening.

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
