"The menu is small, which I love. It features several small plate options ideal for tapas-style dishes or starters, along with a few pasta dishes, salads, and an enticing selection of pizzas. We opted for six small plates: creamy balls, calamari, pil-pil shrimp, creamy garlic mushrooms, spicy carrots, and meatballs. The meatballs were outstanding—light, soft, and bursting with flavor, topped with a luscious rich tomato sauce. The creamy garlic mushrooms were delightful. The dough balls were surprisingly better than those at Pizza Express (though I could easily indulge in their garlic butter). The calamari was nice, but not among the best I’ve had. The potatoes were lovely—soft, slightly caramelized, and they carried a pleasant smoky flavor. The pil-pil shrimp were great, featuring sweet shrimp in a rich tomato sauce with garlic and a hint of chili, though it wasn’t truly a pil-pil. For dessert, we tried two sensational options: tiramisu and caramel chocolate brownie. The tiramisu was light as a cloud, although it could have used a bit more soaked sponge. It was lovely, but I found myself wanting more of the sponge and a touch of the alcohol to balance the richness of the cream. The brownie was sweet, rich, and heavenly—mostly soft and gooey with a few firmer bits. While I think the brownie at Mr. Tanaka’s in Hertford is quite special, I’d say this one is even better. However, a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of cream would be a nice addition to counter its richness. We’ll definitely be coming back. It’s a beautiful place with a wonderful atmosphere. I’d rate the food a solid 4 out of 5, as most of the dishes were only lukewarm when served. However, the restaurant as a whole deserves a 5. It must be family-run, and it’s simply lovely."

We two were the only patrons at lunch on Friday last. As a result we experienced singular and immediate attention. The food: pizza, chips side salad was cooked/prepared from scratch, served hot and with a smile. It was delicious. We'll come again, and soon. View menu

On Saturday, February 19th, my wife Lorraine and I visited The Station for Valentine's Day. Once again, we enjoyed a wonderful meal. The hosts were just as friendly, polite, and considerate as they had been in our previous visits. It was a fantastic evening overall. I can't wait to return soon!

What a fantastic restaurant in such a unique setting! The staff was lovely (it seemed like a family-run establishment), and the food was delicious with generous portions. Two of us arrived late on a Saturday evening without a reservation, and we were fortunate to find not only a table but also outstanding service and delightful meals. I will definitely return once I move permanently to the area across the street!

A unique place in an old train station building, where the trains still woosh past frequently. Lovely welcoming host who runs this place with the chef, her husband. English menu with an international touch, includes a chef’s specials list with some nice things on there. Nice and help full staff who recommended for us a good wine. The meal was fine; well prepared. I found the chicken Milanese combined with the pasta a combination with I didn’t quite get. But that could just be me. Pricing was reasonable. Will be back! "We were visiting Hoddesdon to see our six year old granddaughter appear in a dancing show at the local Spotlight theatre. She did well, recieving an award and medal so the family celebrated the event at the local Sun pub with an early evening meal and drinks. Arriving at 530pm on a Sunday night the car park was nearly full and the pub very busy. Decked out ready for Christmas the pub had a warm friendly family atmosphere. We ordered drinks and relaxed for 10-15 minutes whilst our table was made ready. The serving staff were attentive, friendly and helpful when we were making our selection of meals as not all dishes on the menu were available. We went for Hunters chicken, Scampi, Pizza, Chicken Roast and a Beef Roast dinner and weren't kept waiting long. When ordering deserts our granddaughter wanted a 99 Ice Cream cone and Grandma had a quiet word with our waitress to see if a candle could be added to the cone to help mark this special occasion. Despite the fact that they were busy it wasn't a problem and the ice cream cone with flake and lit candle was duly served to beeming smiles all round. We had a great evening and need to make a special mention of waitress Charlie and give her a really big thankyou from the whole family for looking after us for the evening, arranging the candle and helping to make lasting memories.
