"I hate to leave bad reviews but this was one of the few times where I’ve gone to a restaurant and quite literally cannot eat the food we were served. The calamari to start was undercooked and rubbery. For mains we both got the seafood linguine. The waiter told us it was freshly bought fish from the market that day however it was one of the worst smelling plates of food I can ever remember having. The fish honestly smelt like it was from the Thames. Neither of us could stomach more than a couple of mouthfuls. The garlic bread was ok, just burnt and not that flavourful. The service was fine it was just the food perhaps we got unlucky but it was totally inedible."

Cheap prices make sense. Garlic bread and pizza were dry and crisp like bread sticks. Ingredients not especially fresh. disappointment as it is as close to decent Italian food. Maybe they had a night.

Great find, glad we gave this place a go. The new owners are really friendly and cook lovely authentic Italian pasta and pizzas. They have a great outside courtyard area which is about to have an upgrade to make it useable in the rain. Now we're working from home more often this will be a great spot for out of house working with lunch or a long working coffee. I also went for lunch a while back and they had lunchtime offers on as well so very affordable.

In these troubled times it was nice to sit and eat in confidence that all measures were taken seriously, but that they did not penetrate. The service was friendly and fast. The food was amazing and portions generous. We had such a nice time when we were 'stressed for the pandemic. We'll go back as soon as we both have another day together. I highly recommend La Casa Degli Amici, although it may mean that it will become more popular and I may have to book more!
