"Great place with smashing music. Visited three times during our stay, and normally we rarely visit the same place twice, so you get the gist as to how much we thought of the place; attended twice for the menu del dia and once just for drinks. The first time I had the perfect ideal of Spanish chicken and chips; not very inspiring I hear you say, but this was the best chicken and chips I had sampled in my 6 decades on the planet. When you ask for sangria they offer a bottled variety or home made, I implore you to opt for the excellent homemade variety. Our second visit was just for drinks in the evening; I say just drinks but they were generous drinks, two rum and cokes that left us very merry indeed. During our last few days we headed to La Cucaracha again and had another stupendous menu del dia. More traditional Spanish fare this time but all of it superb. The atmosphere is amiable, the food is fantastic and the music is majestic. Do go, you won’t regret it."

If you want to wait 2 hours without getting anything to eat but some old chips and half patatas bravas and to see the neighbors tables being served right in time, go to the cucaracha ! The last time for us !

Alest es una joya y se merece que le pongan un monumento en esta ciudad. Se nota que le apasiona su trabajo, es una gozada escuchar como habla de los platos. Cocina fija y luego platos dependiendo de mercado. Todo buenísimo en un gran ambiente con rock and roll de fondo. Perdón por no poner fotos pero he devorado todo conforme llegaba. Un lujo.

Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. Enjoyed La Cucaracha so much we came three times, twice for dinner and once for lunch. Nothing disappointed here (as some meals in Alicante did . And what a deal the lunch menu! You can see what we especially loved in our photos, but the octopus, boquerones, salads and deserts stood out. (We rarely eat meat. Loved the space, which was fun, and the music, which was rock but not too loud. Say hi to Maria for me!
