"My husband and I have been disappointed in the restaurant choices in Redon. Today, we visited this little restaurant that has only been opened for six months. The owners, Marie-Christine and Eric, are an older couple who have owned several restaurants in Brittany, and had...an opportunity to come to Redon. We went for lunch on Saturday, and judging by the number of patrons, the news has spread. They have an a la carte menu with lots of choices, but the real value comes from ordering their menu of the day. For 13 Euros, for lunch you get an appetizer, main dish and dessert from three choices in each category. We had the pate de lapin, the fish, and the crème caramel. The pate was delicious, the fish served with a spot-on savory sauce and a steaming hot potato casserole flavored with garlic and served in a ramekin. The crème caramel was served with a hot salted caramel sauce, and was one of the best I have ever had. The service by Marie-Christine was quick and pleasant. The location is not of particular note, and the inside is functional, but without any great charm, although we did enjoy the display of all sorts and sizes of wooden spoons. We will definitely be coming here again. I did not check the price of evening meals, but they are opened for both lunch and dinner. Easy to find, and a large free parking lot is located just down the street."

Little nice restaurant. We'd think we'd be at a place where we're sick and sick... as a family. Very friendly. View menu

We were there the weekend of the Fetes des Marrons with a special meal for the Teillouse. The price was higher than normal for a lunch or evening meal but the meal was a disappointment and certainly nothing special.

Small restaurant, near the river. We called for lunch e14. Adequate choice for the price. I had shrimp as an appetizer, followed by half a duck breast, then mouse Au Chocolat for dessert. Good value, fast service and delicious food. View menu

Everything you want in a French restaurant, and more! We were a big party of 10, but despite not booking we were warmly welcomed. The service was excellent and the food was cooked to a high standard. Surely a very good restaurant and would visit again if in Redon.

During the student holidays we had a short stay in Redon and a few restaurants were closed and taken a break. Fortunately, “The Wooden Spoon” was not one of them. Make sure you book at the time we arrived for our 19:30 reservation, the place was packed.... Excellent food, nicely cooked and served with a smile. It was all we wanted to enjoy in rural France.
